Product Description

This elegant pashmina would make a wonderful addition to your collection of scarves, shawls, and wraps. Its versatility allows it to be shaped and worn in various modes. Go from the modern tie around the neck, to the traditional shawl, and anything your imagination can come up. Dimensions are 6' x 2'2" (72 x 26 inches). This makes an excellent gift for women on any occasion. The material is 100% pashmina - not mixed with silk or any other material. Great for evening wear and social events, but still can be worn for a casual look. Soft, genuine, fringes on both ends. Great for both winter and summer.

The Pashmina Story
Pashmina, from the Persian word for wool, is popularly known in the west as cashmere wool, from the old spelling for kashmir. The fine wool comes from the undercoat of Himalayan mountain goat, raised by semi-nomadic herders. A single goat yields 3-8 ounces of fiber per year. The Tibetan plateau provides the ideal environment for pashmina growth. The fiber is exceptionally absorbent, and it dyes very easily and deeply. In recent years, pashmina shawl has been in fashion all over the world for its luxurious rarity, its incomparable softness, warmth and durability.

Care For Your Pashmina
Pashmina gets softer with frequent use. Cleaning pashmina is easy. Although pashminas can be dry-cleaned, the chemicals used, in the long run, affect it (like all fine wool). We thus recommend washing in cold or warm water using mild, natural soap or shampoo. Rinse until water runs clean and then drip dry only, away from direct sunlight. Do not wring or twist. If it needs pressing, iron over a damp cloth.

The shawl was very soft and well made. I haven't seen it after a few washings but the color is very dark and rich so far.

I bought this for my mother and this has since become her favorite scarf/shawl. It's very classy, soft and goes well with everything. Very nice quality and a good price for real cashmere.

1.0 out of 5 stars Beware! this is a $5 scarf!! this seller is overcharging, January 10, 2011

after looking at the lovely reviews, I bought this on in burgundy and was super disappointed with the quality of the scarf.....believe me, I bought the same thing in the summer of 2010 in a street fair in NYC for FIVE BUCKS!! can't believe this seller is charging $20 plus shipping for the scarf. and to return it, I have to pay additional shipping. Dont waste your money on this flimsily woven scarf that snags on Everything and Anything!! Have not washed it but I suspect it will pill if I do. what a waste of my $23.
