For those feeling homesick and unable to return home to the Philippines during Christmastime, from wherever you may be in the world, this is a perfect collection of traditional Pilipino songs to play in your home. I grew up listening to and singing these songs at home among family and friends, so it brings back many happy memories from my childhood in the Philippines. The music is very upbeat, festive in a very Filipino style, and you feel the joy in the voices of the Mabuhay Singers in their renditions of these enjoyable Tagalog songs. A few of the tracks are also a nice contrast to some of the slower and more solemn music played during the Christmas season. Since all the songs are sung in the native tongue, I recommend, for non-Tagalog speakers, to do a search for English translations. I don't think there will be a lack of them on the internet. So, hang up your parol, bring out the belen, and enjoy Pasko Sa Pilipinas.
