4.0 out of 5 stars Pasquini lux Grinder
I'm currently using this grinder with a Rancilio Silvia Espresso machine. The grinder is stepless and performs well for me. Beans feed well via the hopper and the grind drops easily into my portafilter. The Lux is priced about right for an espresso dedicated grinder.

I hate it with a growing passion! If it didn't do a good job of grinding I'd toss it today but it does spit out good grounds.

I hate it with a growing passion! If it didn't do a good job of grinding I'd toss it today but it does spit out good grounds.

Offsetting that are:

- Bean feeding problems, it won't feed beans unless you bang on it or modify the hopper.

- Grind settings, they are a sticky label on the hopper and the hopper is free to turn on the base so there is not really any relation to the burr settings and label position.

- Cleaning is a major hassle, once a week I hit it with 150 PSI air (oh what a mess) that knocks out most of the grounds that build up in the grinding chamber but it still needs disassembled monthly to dig out the chunks of grounds that build up at the top of the head. That dis-assembly is a major operation and getting it re-calibrated is difficult due to the very limited adjustment range of the adjustment mechanism.

Minor but frustrating issues include the tray being a loose fit and not having a catch to keep it in the unit. The switches are lighted BUT the lights face down and aren't visible when the unit is on a counter top and turned on, not even to the 5'2" wife. There is no way to clean the dispenser spout without dis-assembly, just get used to it being brown and dusty looking.

Bottom line it will do a good job of grinding but the other hassles will soon outweigh that and you'll be wishing you had bought something else. For $300 you can do better.
