This review is from: Pasquini: Variations and Partitas for Harpsichord (1702) / Rambaldi (Audio CD)
Pasquini was famous for harpsichord, especial on early Italy baroque. He was also a educator of influence on keyborad music development. As the piano muisc is popular than harpsichord, he was gradually unknown now. Alhought harpsichord music now is playing replaced by piano, ex we could see on Bach and Handel's music, but i feel it's different taste between these two instruments, especial on baroque music.Harpsichord could offer more silence, peace and gentles. I suggest you could try the Bach Golderberg variations by both piano and harpsichord, you would understand what I mean. In baroque music period, italy Frescobaldi, Pasquini, D.Scarlatti, france F. Couperain, Rameau and germany Froberger, Bach were good to this intrument. They are all beautuful to listen. If you understood this background, and try Pasquini, you would know his value and music more
