5.0 out of 5 stars Is it actually possible to smile (and even laugh) while studying for the Series 66?
First, a disclaimer: I'm only about 10% into Pass the 66. That said, I'm sufficiently impressed that I believe author Robert Walker won't disappoint as I go through the text.

A few years ago, I ordered the Series 65 study materials through a more conventional publishing house. It cost well over $100 and bored the hell out of me. Although I believe I'm...

I got the Pass the 7 book from this series and thought it was great, so I decided to go for it with the Pass the 66 for my next test.

I would go with a different resource for your series 66. This did not feel very complete and there were other references he recommended that we check in the book.

To be fair, I did pass using only this book as a reference.

2.0 out of 5 stars It's a supplement at best...., October 2, 2009

I purchased this study manual while preparing for the 66, and I would call it a supplement at best. I had the study materials from another company so I was able to compare. Robert Walker's book is a quick read and is in plain english, but there are many granular facts and concepts that he does not provide in this text. There are some things that he can at times over complicate. Did it help me clarify some topics, sure. Would I recommend that you use this as your only study manual for the 66, absolutely not. I did pass my 66, but I feel that it was the overall program of the other company that helped me pass rather than this manual.

5.0 out of 5 stars Is it actually possible to smile (and even laugh) while studying for the Series 66?, September 4, 2009

Although I believe I'm pretty disciplined by nature, the day-to-day demands of my investment practice gave me sufficient excuse to leave this first purchase on my credenza shelf, where it sat . . . and sat . . . and sat.

Walker takes a more down-to-earth and conversational approach in his presentation. Granted, the study material is still the study material but, from the visually-friendly text format, occasional cartoon character, and easy writing style sprinkled with humor and wit, I HAVE been able to stay on task and read Pass the 66 since turning the first page last week.

It's just one of those things that, if it feels right in the gut, even from the get-go, then it probably IS right.

Finally, I should also mention that Pass the 66 is priced under $50 which, by rough approximation, makes the buyer's cost about one-third that of the conventional texts. And, being in the money business myself, what's not to like about this?

Despite having a BS from Purdue University in Financial Planning & Counseling and 2 years of work experience as a Loan Officer in Los Angeles I find/found Robert's, "Pass the 66," book to be both phenomenal and by far the best source for learning everything you need to know about the Series 66.

This is a great study manual, well written and easy to follow. The author has a great sense of humor that is engaging and helps visualizing the material much easier. It is a wonderful way to learn.

The Series 66 Exam questions are derived from NASAA and their impossible-to-read documents. Bob Walker takes these legalese documents and turns them into plain English, and shows you how they are applicable to real life situations. If you're studying for the 66, BUY THIS BOOK!! And make sure to get your hands on the supplemental practice tests!
