Christopher Wool was born and brought up in Chicago. In the early 1970s he moved to New York, where he studied painting intermittently and worked as an assistant to the artist Joel Shapiro. 3.0 out of 5 stars Not what you think, March 15, 2005

this book is not what i expected, but the more you look at it the better it gets.I love Korine's work in films and am in the process of getting A Crackup at the Race Riots, but this book seems more like a series of ink blots leaving you to make what you want of the pictures in front of you. Overall it's an alright book but it's not up to par with Korine's films.

1.0 out of 5 stars Dissapointment, February 21, 2006
I was very dissapointd in this book. I am a lover of Harmony Korine's work both in film and in book form, but was not happy with this book. Though I have a love for modern art as well, this book is simply poor art. I Purchased the book here for tenty some dollars and sold it to my local bookstore for four dollars the next day, poor investment.

1.0 out of 5 stars Pass on this one.., April 1, 2004
By A Customer
I liked Crackup and his films, but this book is not that good. The photos are just crappy and the layout of the book is as well. I don't know what they were going for, but they missed the mark. I was disappointed.

I have no idea what encouraged me to purchase this book. This was a waste of paper. And money.
