5.0 out of 5 stars Funny and Full of Knowledge, September 22, 2006
This review is from: Pass the 6: A Training Guide for the NASD Series 6 Exam (Paperback)
This easy to understand and toned down book was excellent! I previously failed the Series 6, using an unnamed Company. (Just becasue they say they have a method that works does not mean that it works).
This book was awesome. It explained new and old information in a comical way but it stayed on track and on task. The study questions and review tests were extremely helpful. And the test taking tips are easy to remember. All I have it 2 words. . . I PASSED.

5.0 out of 5 stars Well worth the money, January 16, 2007
This review is from: Pass the 6: A Training Guide for the NASD Series 6 Exam (Paperback)
This book was the most helpful tool I had in preparing for my exam. I also used online preperation, but it was dry and boring. I actually looked forward to reading this book! It explains the terms in plain english and even has some laugh out loud moments. It also relates terms and concepts to each other so that they make sense and aren't just an excercise in memorization. I highly recommend it to anyone preparing for the Series 6!

5.0 out of 5 stars GREAT book for beginner!, May 6, 2007

This review is from: Pass the 6: A Training Guide for the NASD Series 6 Exam (Paperback)
I highly recommend this book if you are looking to UNDERSTAND the concept of security in general. If you are looking for SAMPLE QUESTIONS to help you pass the test by memorizing, this is NOT for you! This book is to help you understand the basic and logic behind all the membo jambo about securities. The author did a good job in explaining the subjects in plain english so you can relate to your normal daily life. I suggest to read the book at least twice before taking the test & Good Luck!

5.0 out of 5 stars Pass the 6, November 27, 2006
This review is from: Pass the 6: A Training Guide for the NASD Series 6 Exam (Paperback)
I highly recommend these materials for anyone studying for the Series 6 exam! I completed a masters degree over 16 years ago and it had been a long time since I took a test with so much riding on the outcome. Robert Walker's course book, practice tests, and CDs were a huge help and a large part of the reason I passed on my first attempt. His humorous approach to the subject matter made the material accessible and fun.

Folks,

I just changed industries (after 17 years in another industry) and needed to Pass the Series 6 exam. I thought I had a decent foundation of the key concepts until I read this book. I echo all of the other positive comments that you might have read about this book. It is all true. For me, the entire package that is offered (book, CD,s and Exam Prep Software) is the way to go. This allowed me to take approximately 3000 test questions before I took the Series 6 and I passed on the first try. Yes, I am a little "uptight" & nervous about this stuff, but I studied like heck and I needed to pass the test. I just purchased all of the Pass the 63 stuff too. Why mess with something that works for me and I can understand.

I used this book as a supplement in studying to pass my Series 6 exam and it is so much easier to read compared to the other materials I had. I'm not sure if it on it's own it would have adequately prepared me but it definately helped me review and look at things in a different way. I have since passed the exam!

5.0 out of 5 stars Entertaining yet comprehensive., August 13, 2007
This review is from: Pass the 6: A Training Guide for the NASD Series 6 Exam (Paperback)
Robert Walker has written a rare jewel that has the depth necessary for a study book of this nature yet is presented in such a way to make the topics enjoyable enough to retain in your mind. Instead of just listing bullet points, the book presented many colorful situations to bring theoretically concepts into a colorful reality. I just recently passed my series 6 test the first time in no small part to the great resource that is this book. Thank you Robert. I appreciate all the help and I highly recommend your book.

5.0 out of 5 stars GREAT CONDENSED INFO & EASY TO READ, November 30, 2007
By
This review is from: Pass the 6: A Training Guide for the NASD Series 6 Exam (Paperback)
THIS BOOK CONDENSED THE INFORMATION TO THE BARE NECESSITES AND KEPT ME FROM HAVING TO GO THROUGH THOUSANDS OF PAGES OF EXTRA MATERIAL. THERE'S ONLY 200 PGS. OF READING AND THE OTHER 150 PGS. ARE QUESTIONS,ANSWERS & A GLOSSARY. I READ THE 200 PGS. ONCE AND DIDN'T LOOK AT ANY OF THE QUESTIONS OR THE GLOSSARY. TOOK THE TEST & PASSED WITH A 77% ON THE FIRSTS TRY. DID NOT STUDY ANY OTHER MATERIAL! IN MY OPINION THAT'S A GREAT BOOK TO STUDY! HE ALSO MAKES IT SOMEWHAT FUNNY IN ATTEMPT TO MAKE THE MATERIAL NOT QUITE SO BORING!
