1.0 out of 5 stars Wrong answer provided to Civics Exam question, August 19, 2009

This review is from: Pass the U.S. Citizenship Exam (Paperback)
This book could receive high ratings, however there can be no excusing such basic editing carelessness resulting in what will mislead many citizenship applicants, and conceivably result in some of them failing their test.

On page 100, for question 52. When was the Constitution written? the answer is given as 1776. 1776 was the date of the Declaration of Independence, not the Constitution. Obviously this is wrong, the correct year is 1787.

one of the few books I found to help study for 2008 test. Have bought one through Amazon and recommended to another person that bought at retail store. It was exactly what was tested. It's another story when it comes to some of the folks at USCIS and the whole naturalization process...

4.0 out of 5 stars Contains questions/answers from the 2008 citizenship test, May 5, 2008

This review is from: Pass the U.S. Citizenship Exam (Paperback)
This is currently the only book on the market to adequately cover the 2008 revised citizenship exam. I've used it with my ESL literacy student and recently purchased a second copy for another ESL student. But in my limited experience, applying for citizenship requires filling out a great deal of paperwork, and no book on the planet makes that easy for a low-literacy immigrant or refugee. Many low-literacy applicants will still need professional help to work their way through the process. That's my criticism of the government and not a knock on this book.
