4.0 out of 5 stars Better than Gleim EA Review Books
I spent approx. $700 on the Gleim EA study materials and this book was better. Although the $700 was for all 3 parts of the exam; I did pass parts 1 and 3 with the help of Gleim. But did not pass part 2 until I got this book. (Second try I passed Part 2.) This book is extremely well written. And it's clear the authors and also tax pros. The Gleim books are really...

1.0 out of 5 stars Incomplete book
Passkey EA Review purports to prepare you for SEE 2, in fact it omits all reference to trusts, simple, complex, DNI, etc that comprise a significant part of the IRS exam although on page 11 it states this as a requirement. Buyers of this book had better be prepared to buy something in addition or download and study a lot of IRS publications.

4.0 out of 5 stars Better than Gleim EA Review Books, August 22, 2010

I spent approx. $700 on the Gleim EA study materials and this book was better. Although the $700 was for all 3 parts of the exam; I did pass parts 1 and 3 with the help of Gleim. But did not pass part 2 until I got this book. (Second try I passed Part 2.) This book is extremely well written. And it's clear the authors and also tax pros. The Gleim books are really poorly written. Very unclear and convoluted. I would not waste the money on Gleim like I did. The good thing with Gleim is that SOME of their practice questions are very close to SOME of the actual questions on the exam. Maybe 5 out of 100. This book explains things in a very clear-cut, easy to understand way. I would recommend it highly. I did not give it 5 stars because I do believe they need to add more practice questions or offer software with additional questions for practice purposes. Otherwise, for the money, it's worth every cent!

4.0 out of 5 stars Good book to guide as a foundation, July 31, 2010

I have passed PART II business today 7/31. This is a good book to solid all TAX CONCEPTS/FOUNDATION and very EASY to UNDERSTAND. In addition, you need another Questions and Answers type of book to secure what you learn from the book. YES, the SCOPE of this test is VERY HUGE. Regarding the chapter of TRUSTS and ESTATES, simply notify the publication and they are very happy to email you back the chapter. Anyway, this is a user-friendly book.

4.0 out of 5 stars PassKey EA Review Part 2: Buisness, December 10, 2010

This review is from: PassKey EA Review, Part 2: Businesses, IRS Enrolled Agent Exam Study Guide 2010-2011 Edition (Perfect Paperback)
I have been doing Tax Preparation for the past 10 years with H&R Block. In preparation for EA exams, I used their computer base programs for Part 1 and Part 3, which allowed me to passed the exams. But I spent a lot of wasted time and repetative work studing.

I was told Part 2 Buisness was the toughest Exam, so I thought I needed some additional information to pass Part 2: Buisness. I searched out and found this book to prepare me much better than the H&R courses. It is much more informative and easier to understand. Some of my associates spent a lot more money on other computer based programs and found them to be somewhat difficult to understand. Plus they tied you to the computer for hours on end. After reading PassKey Part 2, I feel much more confident on passing SEE Part 2 and will be attempting the test in early January.

If I known about the other books by PassKey before taking the SEE 1 and SEE 3, I would have purchased the entire set to better prepare me and not wasted hours on programs that did not prepare you as well as this book and the series of PassKey books.

PassKey is a great way to go and get your Enrolled Agent status.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent EA Handbook, June 15, 2010
This review is from: PassKey EA Review, Part 2: Businesses, IRS Enrolled Agent Exam Study Guide 2010-2011 Edition (Perfect Paperback)
I have to applaud this book because of the "mix" of information. From my experience, this part of the exam is the most difficult and feared. You should go into it with a vast array of knowledge and this book touches on so much without making you put it down from brain freeze. The test questions are great preparation and the tax definitions are easy to grasp and memorize. You still will want to get some IRS publications and detailed booklets but I would just recommend this set of 3 books because it lays down a basic groundwork of the material that is covered in the exam.

Ok, you're probably right. My review is biased because I'm selling a used copy online. Part Deux of the EA Exam is the toughest so you'll probably need 3 or 4 review books to pass. This is one of those books and, for the price, you can't go wrong.

This is an excellent review for Part II of the EA exam. I studied each chapter and did the review questions at the end of each chapter. It is definitely sufficient for the exam. I passed on my first attempt. I did recognize a few questions from the book as well. It doesn't over-complicate any subject matter; it is easy reading and straight to the point. The chapter on Trusts and Estates was not included, but I emailed the author and received it right away. It is the same chapter from the Part I review book, so if PassKey is used for all 3 sections, you will have it anyway. There's no need to waste money on more expensive review materials. PassKey is the key!

5.0 out of 5 stars excellent EA review, June 12, 2010
This review is from: PassKey EA Review, Part 2: Businesses, IRS Enrolled Agent Exam Study Guide 2010-2011 Edition (Perfect Paperback)
This is by far the best book on the market .It covers the whole range of corporate taxation in a very clear and understandable format. The whole series are by far the most affordable and well written.
I have purchased books that cost 5 times the price of this book that do not cover the material as indepth as this book.I have also taken classes that did not explain the material as well as this book.
I am a tax pro and we will be tested on this material not only for an EA exam ,but within our own company if we wish to move up a grade. This book does it all and I highly recommend it not only for EA test study but for the new IRS tests all professional tax preparers will have to take.If we do not pass these tests we will not be able to work as a professional so I urge you to buy this series and prepare for the tests even if you do not want to test for an EA.
