5.0 out of 5 stars Good tax book, April 28, 2010
This review is from: PassKey EA Review, Part 1: Individuals, IRS Enrolled Agent Exam Study Guide 2010-2011 Edition (Perfect Paperback)
If you have any thoughts about a career in the IRS or just want to tackle the bigger scope of tax preparation, this is a good (and fun) book to read. I passed the EA exam in 1997 and read it over since new regulations are coming out for certification and I wanted to keep current. The test format remains true to form and without studying it, passing is difficult. Knowledge is priority, but test taking skills factor in and this book gives you both.
Reading over the IRS publications is suggested and always will be an added benefit but I found some one paragraph explanations made by the author made up for pages of IRS regulations. Some of the phrases (definitions) of tax terms are so simply put that I have used them to explain things to my customers.
All in all, just a good, keep current, fun book for tax people.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great For the Price But You Need More, June 10, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: PassKey EA Review, Part 1: Individuals, IRS Enrolled Agent Exam Study Guide 2010-2011 Edition (Perfect Paperback)
I purchased this product as additional material for my preparation for the EA exam. I had already last purchased last year's version of the Gleim Enrolled Agent preparation materials, current IRS materials on CD and a couple of exam testing programs. I found that this book had good clear explanations of various important tax topics such as who qualifies as your dependent, filing status etc. I would call this book, the "Cliff Notes" version of the exam. You will need additional resources to pass the exam especially some test simulation software which this has none. For the price this is a great value as my Gleim materials were several hundred dollars. If you are an experienced tax professional this book will help you focus on the critical components of the exam that you may not see in your practice.

4.0 out of 5 stars very helpful for my EA test preparation, June 8, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: PassKey EA Review, Part 1: Individuals, IRS Enrolled Agent Exam Study Guide 2010-2011 Edition (Perfect Paperback)
This book helped me self-study the important terms and concept about tax without taking any class. I recently passed the test of Part 1 and just started studying Part 2. The only short point is the printing size is small.
