The absolute best part of this book, however, is the organizer pockets at the back. There are enough pockets for a ten day vacation, plus a couple of extra, and a couple of travel pockets as well. You can write reservation info, impressions of rides for a scrapbook or something once you get home, and put tickets, pamphlets, etc. in the pockets. I plan on using the cut-out guides from the Unofficial Guide and keeping them in the pockets. I have already put all my ADRs on the pages, and I'm not leaving until May. ;)

This book is small enough that it should fit in a medium bag or pack as you tour. I wouldn't have been happy with it as my only guide, but as a companion and organizer, it's top notch.

5.0 out of 5 stars If You Only Get One Disney Guide, this is it!, January 6, 2007

I'm so glad my brother bought me this guide. Not only does it have EVERY part of the "World" inside, it comes with maps, tidbits and more importantly phone numbers. We went at Thanksgiving and using this book, I was able to reserve a table in Downtown Disney just a week before leaving. When I called the official Disney number for help, I was giving the woman at the other end of the line suggestions about where to call! She asked me which guide I was using, she was that impresssed.
There are pockets at the back to store things in so you have a section all ready if you're scrapbooking when you return. Diary entries are also provided.
The only downside is the sheer size of the book; it's difficult to take with you to each park. The maps are detachable however. If you study it and make lists on the plane, you can decide which things you'd like to see when.
The book tells you which rides have the "fast pass" option, what wait times are like and also where to see the fireworks and parades from. I gotten it for 2 friends leaving within the next year and they are just thrilled with it. The book is updated yearly so it's up to the minute (a must for the ever changing Disney!)
A big thanks and kudos to the people that put this together. It's really one of the best buys I've ever made.

I love this guide to WDW -- I get one every year for my annual trek to The World. This, together with the "Unofficial Guide" will give you everything you need to know. The Passporter not only gives reviews of the attractions based on mom, dad, and kids rating the attractions, it also provides amazingly wonderful color maps of each park and overall area, and several pockets to keep your own park maps, ticket stubs, and odds and ends that you collect. Those of us who find that important LOVE that feature at the back of the book. I find that the reviews are somewhat basic, and that mom and dad frequently disagree on which attractions they like and don't like - it's great to read their dissenting opinions as you decide what is worth a wait in line, and what is not. NOTE: the passporters do NOT provide comprehensive touring plans and attendance record information day to day like the Unofficial Guide does -- if your goal is the fastest possible completion of all attractions at the parks, make sure you get the Unofficial Guide as well. But, for me, the Passporters each year are an indespensible part of my WDW vacation.

There are reviews of all the hotels, parks and resturants that provide excellent advice to a traveller to Disney like me who goes once every five or ten years. The update on all of the old and new rides along with great websites to visit regarding issues like crowds and times of year to visit is very useful. The neat pockets and labels provided in the back of the book will make documenting my trip easier and I will be more likely use it as it is "pre-set". A very nice feature, but not integral to my experience. I have to say having read four Disney guides cover to cover in the last month, make the "Unofficial Guide" your first source in planning a trip to the "World". Passporter does not cover the subject matter nearly as completely.

5.0 out of 5 stars Most Comprehensive WDW Guidebook, November 15, 2006
This review is from: PassPorter Walt Disney World 2007: The Unique Travel Guide, Planner, Organizer, Journal, and Keepsake! (Passporter Walt Disney World Resort) (Spiral-bound)
I purchased the 2006 edition, as well as two other guides. Of the three, this had the best layout, the best information and was the most user-friendly. The book is very helpful in planning individual days and has helpful worksheets and tips for planning on resorts, parks and other activities the "World" has to offer.

I recently purchased the 2007 edition for our upcoming trip and it was even better than the last. There are updates throughout and in the already exhaustive list of restaurant descriptions, the Marxes added a symbol to designate dining plan status & points for each location. Maps of individual parks are awesome, on par or even better than WDW's own maps.

Also available is a website offering frequent updates throughout the year, so you won't be left high and dry if something changed after the printing of the PassPorter.

All in all, this is the best book available for touring Walt Disney World. I would depend on PassPorter alone for my coming vacations.

5.0 out of 5 stars My Favorite WDW Guidebook, January 15, 2007

This review is from: PassPorter Walt Disney World 2007: The Unique Travel Guide, Planner, Organizer, Journal, and Keepsake! (Passporter Walt Disney World Resort) (Spiral-bound)
Passporter has become my favorite WDW guidebook. I am a big fan and visit many times each year, yet the World can still be overwhelming. Owning Passporter is like having a friend (albeit a very knoweldgeable one) fill you in on all the things you need to know to get the most out of your visit. The information is concise, thorough, up-to-date and easy to read. The maps get better each year and are now in color. There are tips for all sorts of travelers and very realistic reviews of everything from the rides to the resorts. The Passpockets at the back of the book help organize tickets, papers and notes and also offer space to record memories from your trip.

I recommend this book to everyone taking their first trip to WDW as well as to people who have gone loads of times. The authors genuinely love all things Disney and that is what makes this book so special.

The point of difference between this guide and all the others is the attention to organisational details. If you love being ultra-organised, this one is for you! Everything from lists of what to pack, budgets, places to record dining details, reference numbers etc. are all here in abundance. If you want detailed reviews of rides, get the Econoguide - this one has very brief ones. The dining details are good, but probably in more depth in the Unofficial Guide. One of the neat things about Passporter are the scrapbook type diary days at the back. They are inventive and unique, but disappointingly, the guide only has 10 of them, meaning that if your holiday is longer, you run out of space.

3.0 out of 5 stars Less Information than the Unofficial Guide, January 8, 2007
By

This review is from: PassPorter Walt Disney World 2007: The Unique Travel Guide, Planner, Organizer, Journal, and Keepsake! (Passporter Walt Disney World Resort) (Spiral-bound)
The PassPorter is a good guide, and obviously highly popular. However, during my family's recent vacation to WDW, we relied much more on the Unofficial Guide than the PassPorter.

Although the PassPorter tries very hard to make it as user-friendly as possible, I found in the end that what I needed most in the sprawling expanse of Disney was information. And for that, the Unofficial Guide can't be beat. Moreover, much of the information and extras offered by the PassPorter was unnecessary (e.g., a packing list, detachable labels -- PostIt flags work just as well -- and daily itinerary pockets to store papers and plan your entire day, although I know that this last feature is popular with many).

That being said, the Unofficial Guide itself endorses the PassPorter, and if you are looking for two guides, this might make a nice companion. However, if you are only going to purchase one guide, and want to get the most information possible (in a well-indexed, highly accessible format), I would go with the Unofficial Guide.

This book had great information and a lot of helpful hints. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is that it is a bit bulky to carry around the parks (which any book would be) and they suggest taking it with you so you don't forget things.

5.0 out of 5 stars HOW TO SURVIVE AT DISNEY WORLD, May 26, 2007
This review is from: PassPorter Walt Disney World 2007: The Unique Travel Guide, Planner, Organizer, Journal, and Keepsake! (Passporter Walt Disney World Resort) (Spiral-bound)
If you want to plan ahead and keep notes on your WDW vacation this is the book. You open the cover to a list of suggestions of things to do before you start. Next is an identification page -- name, celebration, hotel, etc.

The five pages on planning is worth the price of this book alone. The pages on Disney Information has websites you can go to for more detailed information. If you can be flexible about your vacation time, you might ask the Disney operators about their VALUE season.

All of the Disney Lands are included and complete with a detailed colored map. They review the resorts, the shopping, dinning, and the night life of Pleasure Island.

Pages 274 and 275 have websites for other activities in and arround Orlando.

In the back of the book there are pockets to put your photographs, tickets, notes and ideas and even get autographs of your favorite characters. There are also ten pages/pockets to keep track of your vacation on a day-by-day basis.

If you are travelling with children by all means make it a point to read 234 and 235. It is where to have a meal with the characters. I did not have children when I went, but I had two lunches with the characters and it was fun. I even had my photograph taken with them.

I was at Disney's Animal Kingdom in 2006. I wish I had this book then. But, I have it now for when I go to the Magic Kingdom in 2008. Yes, alone -- no children. But I had a great time and you will too.
