Excellent, comprehensive WDW travel guide and planner for everyone.,
This review is from: PassPorter's Walt Disney World for Your Special Needs: The Take-Along Travel Guide and Planner! (Passporter Walt Disney World) (Paperback)
Deb Wills and Debra Martin Koma have written an excellent, comprehensive travel guide and planner of Walt Disney World. Written for those with "special needs" and everyone that just plain cares about all people and want to understand those special needs. Everyone deserves to experience happiness. In Walt Disney World, there is so much to be happy about, and to experience, and to become a child at heart again. Whether you are the caretaker, family, friend, or have health issues, then this wonderful, magical planner is for you. Deb Wills has for years prepared her AllEarsNet website with answers to questions about everything Disney. Deb has every WDW menu, photo, resort, map, description imaginable. Now, Deb has authored a "special needs" WDW planner with coverage of 24 special needs categories. And comprehensive information to help you plan your special adventure, getting there and back, staying in style, touring the world, dining your way. More detailed, excellent descriptions of every Disney ride, attraction, resort, restaurant; maps of parks, resorts, rooms; lists of ratings and websites of all of the above. I love this book. It has given me a better understanding how I can enjoy Disney more than I do now. And now, if you know friends with a special need, don't let them stay at home. Let everyone experience the Magic of Disney. Deb Wills is the real deal. Visit her at AllEarsNet website to see what I mean, then buy this very special needs book to carry with you as you travel to Disney. Sincerely, Ray Sharpton :)

Great Resource for Special Needs Children,

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: PassPorter's Walt Disney World for Your Special Needs: The Take-Along Travel Guide and Planner! (Passporter Walt Disney World) (Paperback)
I found this handbook to be a great resource, covering things we had no idea we were "entitled" to when traveling with our autistic son. There are many benefits built in to Disney World and the theme parks especially for children with special needs. If you need something for your child, JUST ASK!! Most, if not all, park employee's know these benefits, or can direct you to the person who does. When you get the handbook, make sure you have a highlighter to remind you of all the things available, you won't be able to remember them all!!!

Even though I am only half way thru this book, I can tell you it's a MUST READ if you plan on going to Walt Disney World and you or someone in your party have special needs. It covers everything, in great detail, from diet to mobility to fears. Deb Wills and Debra Martin Koma have created something really "Special"! Congratulations to all, including the publishing team!

A great resource,

As a travel agent specializing in Disney, I often get questions from special-needs clients. This book now sits next to my desk and is becoming a valuable and frequently-used resource. "The Debs" have long been regarded by Disney fans to be the most in-the-know ladies on the web about all things Disney World, so this book seems a natural off-shoot of their web efforts. I'm pleased to say that it has been done with all the attention to detail that we've come to expect from them. The style is easy-to-read, and the details are both descriptive and accurate. Most special needs are addressed in this book, and many of the tips and hints given can be applied to those without challenges as well. Job well done!

My husband is a pediatrician and I am a diet counselor. For most of our career, we have been specializing in children with ASD. This book is so easy to read and offers help in many different areas. We both highly recommend it. This was a very difficult task to tackle, but through pictures, charts and amazing organization, Deb and Debra help put reassurance into your vacation!

WDW and Special Needs,

This review is from: PassPorter's Walt Disney World for Your Special Needs: The Take-Along Travel Guide and Planner! (Passporter Walt Disney World) (Paperback)
We have been concerned about dealing with my
daughter's disability (Prader-Willi Syndrome)while at WDW. This book has been very helpful in identifying ways to make the trip more relaxing for the family and fun for the kids. By knowing who to call about dietary needs and what to bring with us, I am better prepared to deal with food issues and possible meltdowns. Every group that is going to WDW and is dealing with special issues needs to get this book.

Special Needs Visitors to WDW,

This review is from: PassPorter's Walt Disney World for Your Special Needs: The Take-Along Travel Guide and Planner! (Passporter Walt Disney World) (Paperback)
Many of us have special needs, from motion sensitivity or allergies to diet or mobility constraints. This book addresses 24 special needs areas for visitors to Walt Disney World. All aspects of the trip are covered in depth, including planning and getting there, choosing where to stay and where to eat, and touring the WDW Resort. Each attraction is described, with tips and warnings for specific special needs covered after their assigned icons (for example, pregnancy has the icon "E"). This book is a tour de force of research and a worthy reference, indispensable for WDW visitors with special needs. (Steve Barrett, author of the Hidden Mickeys book).

This book has a new edition coming out 9/28/2007. The title is _Passporter's Open Mouse...Easy Access Vacations for Trevelers with Extra Challenges_. You don't need to get an overpriced old edition! It took some digging on the Passpoter Website for me to find this, and Amazon does have it!

This review is from: PassPorter's Walt Disney World for Your Special Needs: The Take-Along Travel Guide and Planner! (Passporter Walt Disney World) (Paperback)
Like all of the Passporter series books, this guide is well-researched and extremely informative. It includes information to help travelers through trip planning, getting there, and maximizing the fun and minimizing the hassles during their Disney World vacation.
As someone who visits WDW at least twice a year, I didn't think I had much left to learn about the resort -- boy was I wrong! This book gave me tips that are extremely useful for traveling with children, special needs or not.

I bought this book because my grandson has a mild form of autism and we're taking him and his family to Disney in June. I have read the book and it has the best information on each ride at all the parks. We can now plan what to do and warn him ahead of time that he may have a problem with the ride but he can make up his own mind with the information given in the book. Well worth the money
