5.0 out of 5 stars Academy Award Winning Score, September 30, 2003
This review is from: A Passage to India (Audio CD)
The winner of the 1984 Academy Award for Best Original Score.

One of the most beautiful scores ever written for a motion picture.

Also one of the hardest to find.

"A Passage to India" continued composer Maurice Jarre's long collaboration with director David Lean. This collaboration included "Lawrence of Arabia", "Doctor Zhivago" and "Ryan's Daughter". It was also Lean's last film.

Jarre's score is remarkably beautiful. It is written for full symphonic orchestra and is performed here by Jarre's beloved Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.

It is a fitting conclusion to a partnership that spanned over two decades.
