It was the trappers who opened up the West—after Lewis and Clark. They went everywhere! Then came the settlers, Mormons, miners, Mormon Battalions’ road and the Mexican War (’46–48). Included is the early Spanish Southwest and California history.

That’s how the United States was born—in just 40 years—from 1806 to 1848, from the East to the West! It’s amazing!

I’ve lived all my life along the Snake River—at Big Springs and in Idaho Falls, Idaho. But for the past few years, I’ve been living in Taos, New Mexico. In the summer, I have to return to Idaho and the Yellowstone Country. I’m an artist, teacher and mother.
