Excellent music, but...,

Buy the same exact EP online from the artist's record label (Sub Pop) for far less money than Amazon wants for it. What a rip-off!!!

Overpriced, but contains my favourite Iron & Wine song,

Passing Afternoon has the most beautiful lyrics of any song I've ever heard, and Our Endless Numbered Days is one of my favourite albums of 2004. This single also contains two non-album tracks, Communion Cups and Someone's Coat, which is only 2 minutes and 2 seconds long but is my favourite Iron & Wine song of all time, and Dearest Forsaken, which would have fit nicely in Our Endless Numbered Days, which is to say that it's good but doesn't stand out. That being said, this is the most expensive music I own in terms of price per unit time, >$10 and clocking in at only 9:08.

Is the price for this a mistake?!?!,

Three fine songs from Iron and Wine. One giant rip off from Amazon. Get it on iTunes Music Store for $2.97, as it should be.

Great Single, Bad Price,

This is worth buying, it has 2 b-sides that are great. It's especially worth buying because at some point I'm sure it will go out of print. However, don't buy it here. I bought it at a local indie music store for $4.99, I have no idea why Amazon has it priced at 12 bucks. Be sure to buy it, but be smart- shop around first.

"Communion Cups and Someone's Coat" is actually my all-time favorite song, so buying this album was well worth it for me. Yes, $12 is a ridiculous price for 3 songs, but I believe another reviewer said it best when they said to buy it under the "New and Used" category. However you get and however much you pay, I think it's an excellent addition to any Iron & Wine collection.

communion cups and someone's coat is a fine, fine song and worth the eleven bucks. i just wish sam beam would put more music on his albums, period, and quit releasing singles and EPs. but i will purchase it anyway, and so will you! you can also get these songs for cheaper off iTunes, but who wants to deal with all that encrypted music?

Three Great Songs...,

Everybody is commenting on the price here...and they're right. No WAY should you pay 12 bucks when this can be had for much less elsewhere. That said...
Each of these songs is easily a 5 star song. The title track needs no introduction if you already know and enjoy Iron & Wine's music. It can be found on their full-length album Our Endless Numbered Days. It is one of the stronger tracks on that already great album. One wonders how the other two tracks did not make that album. They too would have been highlights. Communion Cups and Someone's Coat is one of the most sheerly beautiful songs Sam Beam has written. It is short, but it is a personal favorite of mine. Speaking of personal favorites: Dearest Forsaken is one of my all-time favorite songs. It is a remarkable live recording from when Sam was on KCRW. Lyrically and musically, this song is hard to beat. Everything is in it's place. I give this little CD my deepest heart-felt recommendation. Just be a wise consumer. Watch where you get it and how much you spend.

Too much for too little,

The music is great, but the three songs are just over too quickly. I really thought that even tho' there were three items on the label that they would be somehow expanded versions of three titles. Wrong. Just three songs. Frustrating. NMC

Great value,

A lot of people complain about the list price. Ya, LIST price is high, as always. "13 used & new from $5.69" --that's what I pay attention to though, everything I buy is new and CHEAP!! All it takes is a scroll down the listings to find a good deal on a new cd. Granted the shipping is slow from 2/3 of the companies.. but hey its cheap.
