A journey through the last days of Christ's ultimate sacrifice told through a plethora of masterpieces. This unpretentious book is packed with 107 large beautifully presented paintings by a wide variety of artists. From Ruben's washing of the disciples feet, Caravaggio's kissed betrayal, Rembrandt's trial, Carracci's unbearable flaellation, (Duccio, El Greco, Tiepolo, Bosch, Michelangelo, etc.) to Gruenewald's metaphysical resurrection.
Each painting with an informative editorial notation. You can appreciate the underlying piety of the artists in their endeavor to represent their own vision of that particular chapter of the art of the passion. A beautiful Christian meditation book. A beautiful art book.

Purchased this book to replace one that had been loaned to me. Which I cannot find. This book purchased new. This is a lovely artistic book on Christ.
