Milan Records presents a Randy Edelman score - Music from the Motion Picture "Passion Of Mind" showcasing the best moments in music featured on eighteen tracks. Edelman who gave us such wonderful scores - "Gettysburg" (1993) - "The Last of the Mohicans" (1992) - "Dragonheart" (1996), comes now a playful, reflective, romantic and tragic score. This serene and stimulating soundtrack reaches emotional levels filled with delicate musical themes interwoven throughout each movement.

Each track beautifully highlights this enchanting and musical score. This CD inspires the listener into wanting more of the same. Milan Records and Randy Edelman have given us an album that will be greatly enjoyed by any fan of film scores or instrumental music.

I have been a huge fan of Edelman ever since I heard the score "Dragonheat" (his most inspired, every track evoking the very heart and nature of the movie's theme). However, I have felt that some of his recent work has been derivative, more of a re-hash of earlier ideas and themes (although good). "Skulls", for instance, was a good score, but I could hear numerous echoes of previous works.

With "Passion of Mind" I feel Edelman is back to his vintage self, meaning that it is thoroughly new and inventive. Although I haven't seen the movie, the music conjures pictures in my mind and my imagination has been stimulated.

I am encouraged by this work and would recommend it regardless of whether you are an Edelman fan or have seen the movie. Good stuff!

This is really a fabulous score. The concept of the movie was brilliant, but I thought it was dragged down by the dual conflicting love interests. It should have concentrated more on the identity puzzle. But I found myself rewatching the movie just to hear the music again.

Scores don't seem to have the originality that they used to, often repeating one theme over and over, but I thought this one more varied than usual today, and it seems very original. I was so grateful you can buy the album from various download sites, because the CD, like that for Firelight, has become rare and very expensive. This is a gorgeous album worth purchasing through whatever venue.

Can't improve on the other reviews; can't wait to hear this again. I "watch" the film over and over just to hear the music. Particularly love "Guitarelle." Who played this song?
