I read this book a few years back and it still beats any other romance I've ever read! Bursting with sensuality and conflict, Brandewyne tells the ultimate tale of the fight between Light and Dark. This book was an awesome read about the inspiring power of love. An inspirational journey away from the trite and tried formulaic structure of all romance novels. Bold and daring and breathtaking Brandywyne creates magic and a story truly worthy of being told. I was no less impressed with the stunning Sequal Beyond the Starlit Frost. Sadly, there is no word on whether this magnificent work of romantic fiction will ever recieve the closure it so richly deserves.

This story is set in mythical time and place.It could be described as futuristic maybe? The forces of good and evil are battling for control of the world.The hero Cain and the heroine Ileana represent good and evil,light and darkness in the universe.Cain the hero struggles with the dark side of his personality which fights for dominance over his innate goodness.Cain and Ileana were fated to unite to fight the forces of darkness,as a result both of them have been trained to use their special powers as youngsters.Eventually they are brought together and marry,Cain who had seen Ileana in a vision/crystal ball thingy had fallen in love with her and she also grows to love him.Ileana helps Cain to fight the powers of darkness which are battling for possession of his soul.There is not much romance in this novel it is mainly a struggle between good and evil led by the hero and heroine.In the end it is the power of Ileana's love which helps Cain to overcome the powers of darkness and choose the side of good.I give it four stars because it is not really a romance story per se but if you like science fiction you will enjoy it as it is excellently written.
