4.0 out of 5 stars Passion Overtime, October 19, 2009
This review is from: Passion Overtime (Kimani Romance) (Mass Market Paperback)
This is the third book in the Hollington Reunion series of 8 college classmate who has come back for there college reunion.

Kyra Dixon is the Public Relation Director for Hollington who job is to sign Terrence Franklin as the new head coach. For anyone else this would be the dream job but for Kyra meeting Terrence Franklin again for any reason is to much. Kyra & Terrence already know each other and in fact had once been engaged to be married.

Terrence Franklin well known ex-football player who after 10 years has decided it is time to come home and settle down, so when he received an offer to be the head coach at Hollington he never thought that he would run into Kyra Dixon.

Terrence was Kyra first love and the first man she had ever made love to as they grew closer they start planning for there future and became engage. As Terrence was entering in the NFL Terrence began to listen to his agent who was given him advise so Terrence dump Kyra by email. His career took off but after years or partying and drinking Terrence has had enough and when he was he hurt his knee playing ball he begin to re-evaluate his life. The offer to be the Head Coach for Hollingon was like a dream come true in more ways then one. Once he arrived on Hollington campus he never thought he would run in the love of his life Kyra Dixon.

For Kyra coming face to face to the man she wanted to forget ever. Kyra knew she had a job to do as Public Relation Director of Hollington and her job was to convinced Terrence to accept the position of Head Coach. For Kyra that mean being in close contact with Terrence and also to stir up un-wanted emotion. She has never forgiving Terrence of how he broke her heart by dumping her via email Terrence has a lot to be sorry for and her had decided that he wants what he & Kyra had and will do whatever it take to get her back and to gain her trust again. As you will see in the story that Kyra has some issue with her father that effect her relationship with Terrence and any man after that. You will see how far and how much Terrence love her he takes his share of the break up of their relationship, in this story you will see forgiveness and love.

I recommend this book and you will enjoyed.

2.0 out of 5 stars What to say..., September 19, 2010
I have never been more happy for a story to end. I wanted to put this down SO many times and not pick it back up but seeing as it is part of a series I thought I should finish it. This book just was. This is my first time reading a book by this author. I was not impressed. I felt like the emotions of Kyra were all over the place. At the end it kind of becomes a little more clear why she acted the way she did but for me that still didnt redeem the story. I hope the last book in the series is better.

4.0 out of 5 stars A Taste of Nostalgia, January 6, 2010
This review is from: Passion Overtime (Kimani Romance) (Mass Market Paperback)
NFL great Terrence Franklin is back at his alma mater, Hollington College. He has been offered the head football coaching position, now that he has retired from the NFL. Everyone is ecstatic about him being back and bending over backwards to make his stay enjoyable. All except the one person he came back to see, Kyra Dixon. Kyra is Terrence's one true love, although it has taken him 10 years to realize what a mistake he made breaking up with her. He is now back to make things right. PR director of Hollington College and Terrence's ex-fiance, Kyra Dixon is stuck with the task of getting Terrence to agree to become the head coach. Kyra is all business because she is not about to get involved with Terrence again, no matter how sexy and charming he is.

Passion Overtime is a great read by Pamela Yaye. Lots of people will be able to relate to and reminisce about their college days. Yaye does a good job of giving background information that ties the plot together. Because this is part of a series written by several different authors, there are several storylines happening simultaneously. Yaye does a great job keeping them all straight. Passion Overtime is a nostalgic read.

4.0 out of 5 stars TRUE LOVE, January 1, 2010
By
This review is from: Passion Overtime (Kimani Romance) (Mass Market Paperback)
Kyra Dixon wasn't sure she could ever forget her college sweetheart especially since she saw him every Sunday when his team played and he was a reminder of how life didn't always work in one's favor. They were engaged to get married until the Majors stepped in and took him away. Now that their college is in need of a football coach and Terrance Franklin her ex-fiancé is free to coach she finds herself spending more time then she would ever want to trying to recruit him.

Terrance Franklin has come to realize that he's ready to settle down it has taken him ten years to figure this out but only one woman has ever made him think long term in the general idea of marriage and kids with the dog to complete it. However this was the woman who he walked away from to go after his fame and glory but now that they have been forced back together he's determine to make things right.

Kyra and Terrance have their difficulties where the trust has to be built again but the passion brewing isn't going to be so easy to make go away.

3.0 out of 5 stars It was Okay, November 3, 2009
This review is from: Passion Overtime (Kimani Romance) (Mass Market Paperback)
Kyra and Terrance were engaged in college. When he is drafted to the Pros, Terrance follows the advice of his manager and breaks his engagement to Kyra. Kyra never got over the way Terrance dumped her. Instead of doing the manly thing by telling her to her face, he takes the cowards way out and sends her an email breaking the engagement. Ten year later Kyra is PR Director of Hollington College, and she is faced with trying to recruit her ex-fiance for head coach of the school.
Terrance always regretted to way he ended things with Kyra, in his heart he knew she was the one for him. He wants a second chance and ain't to proud to beg if he has to.

I really wanted to like this book, but Kyra's character worked my last nerve. For the first time since I started reading romance novel, I didn't want a couple to get together. I kept hoping waiting for Terrance to decide he had had enough and just walk away. The female (Kyra), in this story, had no redeeming qualities until the end, finally. This story was just okay, because the heroine wasn't very likable, in my opinion.

2.0 out of 5 stars Just...no, November 8, 2009
This review is from: Passion Overtime (Kimani Romance) (Mass Market Paperback)
I'm not going to go into the description of the book because I see that other people have hit you with that already. I just want to express how ridiculously boring it was. The characters weren't developed at all and they were all too... blah. There was nothing in this book that grabbed your attention and made you want to turn to the next page. I finally became semi-interested in the book on page 107 and that fell off by page 111. The book coasted period, point blank. There was no climax; no point of "Oh my god what's going to happen next." I read books to be entertained, this failed to complete the job. I'm going later this week to return it to Kroger's. The moral of me story is: don't buy this if you value your time. Because if I could get Kroger's to refund the day and a half it took me to read this (and it never takes me that long to read a book) I would.

4.0 out of 5 stars Reunion Love, July 24, 2011
This review is from: Passion Overtime (Kimani Romance) (Mass Market Paperback)
As undergraduates at Hollington College, Kyra and Terrance were very much in love and engaged to be married. Once Terrance was drafted into the NFL he left Kyra behind and broke off their engagement via email. Time passed as Terrance played in the NFL for 10 years and Kyra began a career in Public Relations at their alma mater.

Their paths cross again when Kyra is assigned the task to help find a new head football coach at Hollington. Terrance is at the top of the search committee's list and it is now Kyra's job to convince him to return to Hollington. Kyra has mixed emotions over spending so much time with the man that broke her heart, humiliated her, and left her untrusting of men in general. Terrance also has mixed emotions about returning to Hollington and facing Kyra.

Terrance has realized over the past 10 years that Kyra is still the woman for him. He had many nights as a professional athlete partying with different women, but his heart is still attached to only one. He is determined to win Kyra back no matter how hard she fights and rejects him.

With "Passion Overtime," Yaye has written a beautiful story about love and forgiveness. It is a relatable story because at the core it is about being able to rebuild trust. I would recommend this book if you have a few hours to spare as it is a quick read.

3.0 out of 5 stars Story not the author, May 9, 2010
This review is from: Passion Overtime (Kimani Romance) (Mass Market Paperback)
I enjoy Yaye's writing style with the exception of Love on the Rocks. The writing is amazing, the way that she articulates and conveys the message gives you a clear picture of what was occurring. Personally, I could not finish the book because i was just annoyed with the storyline. After ten years, Terrence realize that he should never have listen to his manager in regard to breaking off the engagement with Kayla. If he really love her, then why would the "wisdom" of others truly shake the love he has for her. Aside from that, as I stated prior, she is a good writer.
