I have waited since April for this book to be published and sent to me. It arrived today. The photos are GREAT, but the inside text, unlike front and back covers, which are in English, is in German. There is no duel language, only German. 3 weeks from today I will be at THE PLAY and am very disappointed that I cannot have the book in English before, and will have to purchaase and bring the translated version back with me..If you can read or want it in German it is wonderful, no doubt, However, if you want it in English BE AWARE!!!!!!

I'd attended the Passion Play, and while I was in Oberammergau, I looked for an English version of this book, but I didn't find one. I came home, and then decided that no matter what, I wanted a photographic memory of the play. So, I was willing to order just the German version because I wanted my friends and family to see the Living Images and all of the play to get the best vision of it possible. I was very surprised and pleased when I received the English version since I hadn't specified that when I ordered.
If you are attending the Passion Play, you can purchase textbooks for about 5 Euro. The textbook follows the play word-for-word in English and in German. I highly recommend buying one to help with understanding the play if you don't speak German.

When I preordered this book on June 1st, the words "German Edition" were nowhere to be found. I received the book, with its front and back covers printed in English, and was disappointed to discover the inside text in German. Having attended the Passion Play, I can follow along ( I already knew the plot!) The pictures are gorgeous, and the book is beautiful. Nevertheless...there's that language barrier. I'm keeping it as a memento, and because I have not been able to find the English edition. ( I saw it in Oberammergau but thought it was too heavy to transport. )

This is a wonderful memento for those who attended the play in 2010, and the photos and commentary are great. The earliest edition was in German (ISBN 978-3-7913-5024-0) and the English version was published in late July (ISBN 978-3-7913-5025-7). The English version is what Amazon is currently listing and shipping, but their description hasn't been totally updated and still shows it as German language.

My wife and I attended the Passion Play in Oberammergau in September, 2010. We didn't purchase the book "Passion Play 2010 Oberammergau there because it would have added considerable weight to our luggage and I knew that I could order it from Amazon.com. The photographs in the book are really beautiful and the text is helpful in onderstanding the more subtle aspects of the play. The play was a wonderful experience and the book is a beautiful compliment to the play,

I attended the Passion Play in Oberammagau in early June 2010. At that time there was no current literature/pictures available for purchase on the 2010 production. This book brings back all my memories. The photos and notes are wonderful.Passion Play 2010 Oberammergau

The book was in great condition, however the book from Oberammergau cover was printed and the one I recieved was plain with a printer paper sleeve.
