exciting romantic fantasy,
This review is from: Passion Untamed (Feral Warriors, Book 3) (Mass Market Paperback)
The malevolent demonic ones have forced kindhearted witch Skye to kidnap Immortal Feral Warrior Paenther. In the Blue Ridge Mountains to his chagrin, she has him chained; the second time he has been captured by a mage. However, this time he plans to escape to complete his mission to find and rescue Vhyper, but first he must escape his captivity. He seduces his bewitching adversary, but vows vengeance against bewitching mage-woman who has somehow enchanted him.
However, for him and his mates especially Vhyper to escape the trap, Paenther must depend on the witch who already possesses his heart although he fears her betrayal. Skye vows not again; as she plans to keep the Feral Warrior who owns her heart and his associates' safe even tif hat means the cost of her soul. The third Feral Warriors "untamed" romantic fantasy (see DESIRE UNTAMED and OBSESSION UNTAMED) novel is fast-paced and exciting from the moment an irate Paenther finds himself chained by a beautiful mage and never slows down as his limbs may be unchained but his heart remains chained. The story line contains plenty of action and passion yet also tells somewhat Paenther's back-story of how he became a rookie Feral Warrior in 1738 Virginia. Fans of the saga will fully relish this entry as star-crossed love means to trust with your life, which (no pun intended) is easy, but trusting your band of brothers is hard. Harriet Klausner

Paranormal of the best kind,
By Dallas Texas Girl (FlowerMound, TX USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Passion Untamed (Feral Warriors, Book 3) (Mass Market Paperback)
Contrary to the reviewers that did not like this story I have to say it was the best of the 3 books. As for the lead heroine being whiny about her circumstances and not liking her part in the animal sacrifices or the capturing of Paenther and having to use him by having to have sex with him to raise power that the leader Birik ordered her to do. You have to understand this was a little 8 year old girl that was taken from her mother and family all because she was an enchantress and the souless mage wanted to use her for her power. In the beginning she fought Birik and refused to use her power to call animals to be sacrificed and all she got for that was being chained to a slab and raped by Birik and all his Sorcerers and abused in many other ways until she gave in. I for one do not think I could of withstood that kind of abuse at the age of 8 and I am sure most any 8 year old would do whatever they were told to do even if it went against all they believed in. As for the sex with Paenther if you read the story he wanted her and even as he tried to refuse her he did not seem to regret it at all. She always asked permission and only did it after Birik gave her a beating for not having sex with Paenther and Paenther was the one who told her to do it. Sorry but you can not call this rape. One review said, why could she not ask Paenther for help instead of capturing him like Birik told her...well do you really think Paenther would have helped her in the beginning? He hated the mage and probably would have killed her out right had he known who she was. I did feel for Skye and cried for her also. In some ways I saw her as the 8 year old in a womans body. I felt she was a strong, carrying person that survied so much in her young life and regardless of the pain and suffering, she believed in herself enough to trust Paenther and risk the consequences to herself. I urge anyone to read this story with an open mind and place yourself in Skye's position at the age of 8 and then I believe you can relate to her and the choices she made. Happy Reading!

Good Addition To The FW Series,
This review is from: Passion Untamed (Feral Warriors, Book 3) (Mass Market Paperback)
I read both novels to the FW series previous to this one (Desire Untamed and Obession Untamed). In my opinion, this book was one of the best (right along with Desire Untamed), if not the best book in the series.
The novel centers around Paenther's story. He had previously been betrayed by a Mage and ends up falling in love with one. I personally felt like this book had significantly more character development than previous books in the series, especially on Skye's part. She is definitely no Delany Randall (Tighe's heroine) and anyone looking for that type of heroine may disappointed in Skye. I'm usually into very strong female leads like Delany, but I felt more of a connection with Skye. She's sensitive, but strong in her own kind of way considering what she has been through. I felt like her feelings/emotions were right on par with what someone in that position would feel like. Her connection with Paenther seemed realistic. Paenther, however, could have used a tad bit more development. We never fully got to know what happened in his past and I wish that was more explored, as opposed to just giving us tid-bits here and there. Sometimes understanding a character's past gives us insight as to why they act the way they do and it's important to making us feel a connection with the character. On a more positive note, It was good that the author had Paenther doubt the heroine for a while, as opposed to just making them fall in love with each other despite the fact that she is Mage. The story can be kind of confusing at times with all the different Mage and Therian aspects. This was a complaint I had for the earlier books and it has not changed. Sometimes I found myself asking "How can a Mage do this?" because sometimes it seemed like the author just put things in their scope of power to make it fit into the novel. All in all, the love story was great and the character development was significantly better than previous installments. I enjoyed it and I'm glad I stuck with the series after being disappointed in Obession Untamed.

COULDN"T GET INTO THIS ONE,

Unlike Obsession Untamed (second book in the series) which I totally enjoyed, I found this book extremely boring and a total letdown. Couldn't connect at all with the two main characters. Despite the heroine Skye's traumatic upbringing, I couldn't sympathize with her. Something about her rubbed me the wrong was from the start, maybe it was her constant whining and refusal to accept responsibility for all of the bad things she did. And Paenther came across as a dork for always wanting to have sex with her even after she captures him and he's chained and held captive.

Not the best of the series,
This review is from: Passion Untamed (Feral Warriors, Book 3) (Mass Market Paperback)
I really liked the first two novels in the Feral Warrior series, but this one just felt like the author rushed to finish it. It did not have the depth or connection I felt with the first two. Furthermore I really did not like the heroine. She was a bit needy and I was disappointed in her. This book would be great to complete the series, of which there will probably be more later, other wise I would avoid it as an only read.

UGH!! I can't even finish this book!,

This review is from: Passion Untamed (Feral Warriors, Book 3) (Mass Market Paperback)
This is my first venture into the world of the Feral Warriors and, sadly, it will definitely be my last. The so-called heroine of this book is the most infuriating character ever. I have reached page 121 and I can't take Skye's whining anymore. She takes no accountability for her actions and the author tries desperately to make the reader feel sorry for her by slowly revealing how traumatic her upbringing was. It didn't work. Her constant insistence that nothing she has done to Paenther is her fault has almost driven me to drink and I have been rooting for Paenther to kill her since they arrived at Feral House. Skye is the weakest, most spineless "heroine" I have ever seen. I tend to like strong, confident, confrontational heroines who take control of their situations. This book has REALLY missed the mark for me. I am so glad that I only spent $4 on this paperback.

horrible female lead,
This review is from: Passion Untamed (Feral Warriors, Book 3) (Mass Market Paperback)
I'm so disgusted by this I can't continue. The mage has spent her life capturing innocents so she can help Birkit kill them. In addition, she rapes Paenther. We're supposed to feel sorry for her because she's sad and doesn't really want to do it? Her constant whining that she is FORCED to do this just irritates me more. Hmmm, maybe she could have enlisted Paenthers help instead of capturing him - maybe at some point figured out a way around it without killing how many? How many has she raped? I have no interest in someone like this being the heroine of my story. And Paenther making it any easier on her is offensive and ridiculous. The whole thing icks me out.

I have been devouring the feral books recently. Falling in love with each and everyone. Although Paenther is easily my favorite character even from the beginning. The kind of dangerous romantic guy I would totally be attracted to. Must be why I like him so much he so real to me. So of course Passion Untamed of course already had me hooked from the first page like the rest of the books. They are like a drug I cannot get enough of.
And although I know in a review such as this you are not supposed to talk about the packaging (and I guess this isn't important to the ebook people out there.) I love the covers! They are already worth the price of the book by themselves. I don't know who models for them but they are so close to the way they are described in the book (trust me sometimes the artist is so involved with making an exciting cover s/he forgets the rest.) not only that but if you are walking by those covers in a book store they can totally catch your attention it did for me. |
