A gem that is worth many rereads, May 21, 2009
This review is from: Passion's Dawn (Paperback)
Passion's Dawn is set in the Civil War Era, though this doesn't overpower the story of southern belle Rheva Sinclair and Union Major Jeffrey Banks. Forced to take Jeffrey into her home, Rheva is adament that she hates the Federal officer, while Jeffrey falls under the beautiful Rheva's spell. He is extremely dominant and somewhat dense in regards to Rheva. Though Rheva acts indifferent to Jeffrey she begins to fall in love with him, though her brother and the war comes between them. An engaging story that became one of my favorite novels. Don't worry, there are not rape scenes or violence if I remember correctly. I would absolutely recommend this book. Very nicely written, and full of spunk. Rheva is no spineless heroine, but she doesn't overdue. I love Major Banks, very sweet in a jealous sort of way.
