Book Description

The heart of change is the change of heart

Life is about never ending choices. Yet some people never have the courage to choose change.

CJ Fallon has struggled with a family that she’s never quite fit into and a negative body image poisoned by her toxic, emotionally distant mother. CJ’s mom finds fault with every choice CJ has made in her 27 young years. From earning her degrees; to climbing the corporate ladder; to her love of competing in Ironman triathlons; it’s all been one mistake after another according to CJ’s mother.

And now that CJ has won her ‘age group’ in an Ironman race as an amateur, she’s on the radar of the world’s athletic elite. Nick Madison, a former Tour-de-France star and coach of an up-and-coming Ironman team, wants her to join his outfit and become a professional. A real pro!

CJ struggles with her decision but once she commits to something there’s no turning back.

After all, life is about making choices.

Even if it means leaving a stable career.

Even if it means leaving friends and moving half-way around the world.

Even if it means living with her mother’s rejection.

Even if it means losing her heart.

Even if it means risking her very life.

5.0 out of 5 stars I feel like a triathlete! January 16, 2013
By Laj
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Passion's Race put me in the middle of a professional team of triathletes, involved me in their journey while seeing it through the eyes of CJ Fallon. We experience Guam through Christine Mazurk's rich description, the ups and downs of training and racing at a professional level, and the emotions of true family bonds. The twists and turns experienced off the course keep you reading. Motivational, inspirational, tender, and fun. Had me laughing and crying within the same chapter! Awesome read!

5.0 out of 5 stars Wish I could give it ten stars January 8, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I found Passion's Race outstanding in every possible category. Inspirational? Oh, yes. Motivational? You betcha. Now that I've read about CJ Fallon and gang, I even look forward to my daily walks more than I used to. Romantic? Ah, yes, and so satisfying. Emotional? On many levels. As CJ learns that family means so much more than blood ties, I felt a lump in my throat. When reaching her goal seems impossible, I cried along with her. I'd give it ten stars if I could.

5.0 out of 5 stars Engaging Read January 1, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
There is so much to like about this novel - the whirlwind surrounding choices we make in our lives, the definition of "family" and what it means to belong, the determination and passion behind driven individuals, and the true heart of spirit that lifts us to go forward. Christine Mazurk has a true talent for telling a story that reaches into the corners and illuminates details, while keeping the reader emotionally involved. Recommended!

More About the Author

I am a business woman and Ironman triathlete with a passion for writing stories about 'heart'. My business experiences and participation in endurance events have allowed me and my husband to live and travel the world, which provides unique settings for the abundance of characters I create in my mind.

I believe life shrinks or expands in proportion to the risks we take and the courage we display. Having worked in an industry of change, my story theme emerged: "The heart of change is the change of heart."

My stories will continue to emerge from this theme. My heroines overcome emotional and personal issues, as they become empowered in a physical way. Please join them on their journeys - and see if you can relate to the many issues they face.
