This review is from: Passport to World Band Radio: 1998 (Serial) (Paperback)
There's nothing quite like listening to the BBC on a world band (shortwave) radio. But where does the newcomer begin? Right here! The annual Passport to World Band Radio takes you by the hand and into the store to pick out a suitable receiver. Then, once you get your new radio home, it points you to all the right spots on the shortwave dial to hear news from across the Atlantic, financial figures from the Pacific Rim, sports-talk radio from New Zealand and even good ol' Communist propaganda from places like North Korea and Havana, Cuba. Your shortwave radio will take you places you've never been to, and when you DO travel abroad, it'll keep you in touch with home. But it can't do that if you DON'T know where to tune. The Passport to World Band Radio is the best guide of its kind on the planet, for listening to the voice of the planet.
