Book Description

(Contains Episodes 6-9)

Alone without friends or family to comfort her after the death of her mother, Willow Finley’s idyllic life is over—and just beginning.

When Willow Finley awakes on a hot summer morning, she is unprepared for the grief that awaits her. Jerked from a life of isolation with her mother, Willow learns what alone really means when she finds her mother still in her bed, never to awaken again in this life.

From the moment Willow arrives in the police station with her startling announcement, Chad Tesdall fights the friendship he knows he can't avoid.

This collection includes episodes six through nine of Past Forward. Willow, battling grief and anger, drives Chad from the farm, but he finds himself drawn back, despite her determination to keep a wall between them. An accident and the chance of a lifetime threaten everything she thought she held dear. As the walls crumble, Chad and Willow's friendship deepens into something truly special, but to what end? Everyone around him pushes Chad into a relationship he both wants and fights, knowing that Willow simply is not ready.

Someone is wreaking havoc around her farm. Afraid for Willow's safety, the police take turns guarding her place when off duty and she finds it hard to endure the disruption of her tranquility.

And then, Chad asks her to dance. Can she trust him? Find out in this second volume.

Follow as Willow's story unfolds past forward.

Past Forward is a serial novel released weekly on Kindle.

5.0 out of 5 stars Volume 2 steps up the intrigue September 2, 2012
By Liss
Format:Kindle Edition
As much as I enjoyed Past Forward Volume 1, I think I enjoyed Volume 2 even more! Willow Finley is such an interesting character who inspires me to work towards a more self-sufficient lifestyle. Even more importantly, she's an inspiration to walk closer to my Savior. I like that Willow is blunt without being rude, and she is concerned about the hearts of everyone around her, even people who have caused her harm. I can't get enough of this story!

5.0 out of 5 stars We Are Past Forward Fans!!! September 1, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
Past Forward Volume 2 (episodes 5-10) continues the engrossing story of Willow Finley. The contrasts between isolation vs community; the survival practices
of the past vs 'modern life America"; and the ongoing friendship developing between farm girl and small town cop are riveting. All my friends with Kindles are reading this now. Plus I read aloud to my husband and to my blind friend. Husband finds sections evocative of his childhood. My sight impaired friend says it is the best book yet (we have been reading weekly for 5 years.) Paperbacks Volume 1 and Volume 2 are available or coming soon. Wednesdays have a star on my calendar...that is the day the next episode is available for free.

4.0 out of 5 stars Past forward vol 2 April 9, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
Going to like this series as well as Aggie's. willow is who I wanted to be when I was younger. The stories are captivating. Her talents and home are just where I would have liked to be. Wait one minute!!!! Now after reading Vol 2, come to find out here are 24 in the series from $2.99 to $4.99. None of which are free! 22 more "books" at $3 will cost me $66!!!!!! No thanks. This stinks. I feel so very used. Even went to the website and signed up for notices of the free installations. Vol 8 is coming up????? So I missed 3 thru 6. This has ruined my day.

5.0 out of 5 stars The best books EVER!!!! August 31, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
I stumbled across this series of books by accident but its no accident that I keep coming back for more!!! I can't wait for the next installment to come out. I sit and read them as soon as they come out and then am on pins and needles waiting for next week. I've never been like this with any other set of books. I don't ever want this series to end. I don't know what I would do without Willow and Chad. I look forward each week to see what Willow is going to be up to this week!!! Keep up the great work Chautona!!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Past Forward August 31, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
I really love this book. I found it by chance one day, and ever since, I have looked forward to reading the next installment each week. I have a hard time waiting to see what is going to happen next! I have enjoyed watching Willow grow as a character. I also enjoy Chad and Willow's relationship. I am going to be very sad if they don't end up together. I have been chuckling at Chad the last few episodes because he claims he doesn't love Willow. Hmmm. It's so obvious that he does! I also love that faith is such an integral part of the book. Overall, this is a great read, and I highly recommend it.

More About the Author

Chautona Havig began her love affair with words as a very young child. An early reader, she spent most of her childhood devouring books at the speed of a paper grocery bag full each week during summer vacation. Blessed with a vivid imagination, she often escaped into worlds of her own creation.

When asked about her first attempts at writing a novel, Chautona said, "The summer I turned thirteen, I wrote the most insipid, pietistic, self-righteous pile of wasted paper that anyone has ever attempted to put on paper. Looking back, I guess it was a good reminder of what I don't want to write! Twenty years later, in 2001, I suddenly felt compelled to write, and I haven't stopped since."

With over a hundred books in various stages of editing or completion and three in print, Chautona doesn't see herself ever running out of ideas.

Chautona strives to write about average people with genuine problems, and how they strive to live their lives to the glory of God. Some of their methods are unconventional and their situations aren't pristine and free from the taint of sin in this world, but all care more about serving the Lord and each other than obtaining some Utopian ideal.
