Like many of Sylvia's books, this one just was as great! Sylvia discusses past lives and how personalities of people are carried over from lifetime to lifetime. 3.0 out of 5 stars This book has one problem but, it is worth reading.
This book will teach you about past lives and healing. It also goes through problem-solving skills as it relates to spirituality and every day life. It is a good framework for thinking. This book is very enjoyable to read. However, the problem with this books is that it encourages us to experiment with the unknown, which is problematic for some. It also encourages...

Like many of Sylvia's books, this one just was as great! Sylvia discusses past lives and how personalities of people are carried over from lifetime to lifetime. Events such as how someone may have died may effect that person in another lifetime and it was interesting how Sylvia hypnotically regressed people through a past lifetime to discover things that person didn't know. It was a great book to understand phobias. Such as the fear of drowning or water. Perhaps Sylvia's client had drown in a past life and this time around it is pinpointed and resolved so that person can continue life more normally. Sylvia had put together a great collection of stories from her clients over the years to put together a book on how to become mentally stronger and deal with our fears, hostilities or negative influences to have a positive result. I couldn't put this book down and read it rather quickly as with other Sylvia Brown books, you won't be disappointed.

This book is a wonderful example of the healing that is available to anyone, if they want it. The subject matter should not be taken lightly or played with for fun. This healing is very real, as Sylvia shows in her book. The examples are wonderful, with separated listings for physical, emotional problems and more. I've personally seen this type of healing work just as well and as easily as the book explains. Sylvia has her usual wonderful humorous comments throughout the book. But the subject matter is very well detailed and explained. She gives you hints along the way as to how to get the most healing from the experience. But please make sure that the hypnotherapist or psychologist/psychiatrist you elicit for this type of healing is qualified and trained to use it or your experience won't result in the healing you're looking for and your time and/or money is wasted. All in all, the book is very much worth reading whether you're looking for some new ideas in your practice, or whether you're reading it for future information or personal knowledge. Enjoy!

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Good!, July 28, 2001
This review is from: Past Lives, Future Healing: A Psychic Reveals the Secrets to Good Health and Great Relationships (Hardcover)
I've read many of Sylvia's books and I absolutely love her straight forward, no-holds barred way of putting her beliefs out there and to heck with whether anyone agrees or not! I think she is one of the most courageous people I've ever seen. This book delves more deeply into case examples of those who have had physical & emotional/mental problems that traditional medicine couldn't help. Through hypnotic regression, the client touches into lifetimes that relate to the physical symptoms to find *the point of entry* as Sylvia says, for these issues. She goes on to give us helpful suggestions as to how each of us can heal ourselves in this same way. I don't always agree with everything Sylvia presents but I think she's definitely on the right track with this book. I do healing work with clients and will be incorporating her ideas into my work to help people who can't seem to find relief from any other method. Sylvia is careful to say that past-life regression doesn't heal all things all the time. But at least try it first before you assure yourself that it's hooey. Amazing stuff Sylvia!

5.0 out of 5 stars Very enjoyable and easy to read book., July 25, 2001

This review is from: Past Lives, Future Healing: A Psychic Reveals the Secrets to Good Health and Great Relationships (Hardcover)
In my humble opinion, this is the best Sylvia Brown book available. This book is easy to read and hard to put down. Sylvia writes like she is your best friend and her books are very comforting. As to the historical inaccuracies mentioned by another reviewer I must respond that the records surrounding the Salem Witch trials are inaccurate, incomplete and biased. The records were written by the very men who judged the victims guilty and I believe that there is more to the story than will ever be told. Sylvia simply recounts what she is told by her patients and it is not up to her to correct or change any account. Altogether this is a delightful book that I will reread many times.

5.0 out of 5 stars Past lives, future healing, June 2, 2002

This is a wonderful book. As a new and still learning Hypnotherapist, I have tried the methods in her book and they have worked with amazing results. It is not always a past life the person goes to; as in one case of an abusive father. In another case I did, a woman's leg sores were cleared up completely. She was an American Indian hunting a bear in a past life when the bear tore up his legs. He eventually died of the infected leg wounds a few years later. It has been an incredible help to me and several people I have worked with.

5.0 out of 5 stars Past Lives, Future Healing: Sylvia Browne et al., July 6, 2006
The book has excellent stories of how people carry forth past
memories/history into their current lives. The foundation for this reliving is cellular memory. It's safe to say that we carry the ability to retain information into the indefinite future.

This aspect has important ramifications because it would explain
why people hold onto certain types of irrational behaviors
indefinitely. The work has a lesson for the audience. That is,
find out who you are and where you've been in a previous life.
Then, try not to repeat the negative aspects of that existence
or carry forward past sorrows into the present or future.

The work is replete with samples of how people carried forward
past aspects of life. For instance, a person with neck pain
had been to the guillotine in a past existence. We need to
do a dispassionate assessment of cellular memories in order
to rid ourselves of longstanding illnesses, pain and trauma.
Accordingly, pains not showing in the body fluids testing
can have their etiology in psychosomatic or unexplainable phenomena.

There is no doubt that the human body carries the ability to
store information very much like an analog computer. Witness
the easy recitation of lines of a play by a school child during
the dress rehearsal. Certain events remain a permanent part of
our experiential domain. People have recited important junctures
of their life while on the deathbed. Somehow, everything seems
to flash by randomly one last time. Where does this information
come from? It resides within an indelible memory which we are
just beginning to understand. The work by Sylvia Browne forces
us to probe who we are so that the future can be shaped by
novel concepts rather than past sequences of events.
If you don't know who you are and where you've been, then the
past can have a negative predominant impact on your future.

Those who know their past lives have the requisite information
to overcome the barriers of an ingrained proclivity to focus
on the past and keep reliving it according to the author.

4.0 out of 5 stars Entertaining but is it real? who knows, October 10, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Past Lives, Future Healing: A Psychic Reveals the Secrets to Good Health and Great Relationships (Hardcover)
This book is definitely entertaining to read though I wonder if its real or not. I guess people believe in what they want to believe. I read this book with an open mind and thought it was pretty good. The last couple of pages were about how to find out about your own past life (teaching you how to hypnotize) ¡¦ well lets just say It didn¡¯t work for me. I thought it would be fun if it worked but guess you need to have a lot of patience or be naturally good at hypnotizing people to make it work (or maybe it doen't work at all). I gave up after reading through 2nd page of ¡°Relaxation¡± it¡¯s more aggravating then relaxing reading through all the mambo jumbo she wrote in the book.
¡¦Geez
Bottom line is that the book it self was entertaining to read.
The credibility of Sylvia Brown is questionable especially after checking out her website.
It seemed like her focus was after the money rather than to help people.

5.0 out of 5 stars very very good!, July 13, 2004
This is my favorite Sylvia Browne book. Its well written and very fascinating. What the people that gave Sylvia a bad review for this book forgot to mention that she has proven literatley thousands of her case studies. Like if a patient claimed to be named whatever and lived in say Boston and and had whatever occupation. She would go and look into public records and find that person, proving they existed. And they also forgot to mention that she is a master hypnotherapist. And how would you guys explain all those people Sylvia cured that were practically incurable?

5.0 out of 5 stars An Incredible Introduction to Past Lives!, November 16, 2003
By A Customer
I had never really been drawn to Ms. Browne's writing for whatever reason, but after reading this book, I feel compelled to read all of her work. The writing is open, warm and conversational. The stories of past life regressions that the psychic conducted are inspiring and Ms. Browne's discussion of the effect of past lives on our current mental, spiritual, physical and emotional health is fascinating. For me, Sylvia's insights rang true and I finished the book in one evening, excited and full of hope for my future. I also didn't hesitate to try the do-it-yourself regression Sylvia generously outlines in the final portion of the book. I was able to access a former life and later confirmed through research online that my "knowledge" of the geography and history surrounding this former life were spot on! I couldn't have know ANY of these things unless I really, truly had lived there during that time or been an historian - which of course I am not! I will be working with this guided regression for a while to try to dissolve whatever unresolved residue still exists in my spirit mind. If you are at all curious about past lives, get this book! Thank you Sylvia Browne!

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Book by Sylvia Yet..., July 17, 2001
Past Lives, Future Healing - where medical science leaves off, or refers us when there is no help left. For anyone who has undergone hypnosis, and trusts their doctor, read this book for a real eye-opening experience. For anyone who has suffered from depression, and found no help from Physchiatrists, please read this book. I've read most of Sylvia's books, only a few I didn't like. But, this one is special! Enjoy!
