A very interesting read,
By S.E. Poza (Rimersburg, PA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Past Lives Future Lives (Paperback)
Jenny Cockell can "remember" other lives. Her memories support the idea held by many believers of so-called New Age spirituality that there is no time but that time is a framework for our current perception of reality.
Though it seems that she can see "through time" to her past and future lives, the main concept is that she simply can access other parts of her "spirit" or "soul" which are experiencing other realities. She's not a prognosticator. It's more like we are locked in a room with four walls and no windows living this existence and are completely unaware that we are also experiencing other existences in other locked rooms simultaneously. Jenny Cockell's room has windows where she can see other existences as she experiences this one. While a few reviewers have said her "predictions" lack credibility, I feel her future perceptions of a planet with greatly reduced population due to environmental damage come across as highly credible, particularly in light of the fact that this book was written before the effects of environmental hormones on fertility were popularly known. Her writing is not well-polished but I think that's because she's not trying to be a great author. She's not trying to woo you with her scintillating story but simply to relate her story so that others can understand what she has been experiencing all her life. If you want a fascinating novel, you'd best look elsewhere. If you want to hear an honest and very readable account of a woman's sincere and uncommon percpetion of reality, this book is for you.

Brief Look at the Paranormal,

If you have read Jenny Cockell's previous book "Yesterday's Children" then much of this book is already familiar.
I agree with the reviewer who said this book is more like a magazine article. Several chapters are padded with quotes from other authors to sum up paranormal experiences such as children's past life memories and experiences between lives. These other authors' ideas are used to support the brief descriptions that Jenny gives herself. The quest to find out about her future life in Nepal is filled with facts about Nepal, but the life itself (of course) can't be confirmed. ****SPOILERS AHEAD**** Jenny does have a different view of reincarnation. She believes that it is not the result of "karma" or free choice, rather the decision to come back is a subtle subconscious one that is heavily influenced by the desire to reincarnate along side other familiar people. Her dry writing style leaves me with the impression that she has not learned much in terms of spirituality in all her different lives. After this current lifetime exploring the paranormal and a supposedly future life in Nepal, Jenny predicts to have a new lifetime in 2228 as a woman named Janice: "I was a dumpy, single woman; I gave my age as 'the wrong side of thirty'" After all this focus on the spiritual and that's what she ends up thinking? This book is not inspiring. The descriptions of experiences between lives is a rehash of other material. The writing style is tedious. The drama about finding her future lifetime in Nepal is muted by the fact that it can't be confirmed. Her prediction about a decreased population after 2050 is interesting because it relates to fertility problems caused by pollution. That brief section did hold my interest. However, the rest of the book was dull. Yes, she can see future lives and they are very, very boring.

an amazing book of one womans journey. it made me believe in what i thought might be impossible - past and future lives. through jenny's experience and honesty i could see that there is more, that there is something beyond, and that perhaps we have all lived before.

Having read her "Yesterday's Children" I can only say she has really outdone herself now, excellent writing. Just like she was in the room telling her story.

Another tiresome autobiography from a psychic of sorts,
By Penny Duff (St. Petersburg, Florida) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Past Lives Future Lives (Paperback)
While I found the few bits on future life progressions interesting and confirming of other things I've read, that could have been covered in a magazine article. Overall, it is just another autobiography, badly in need of a good editor to bring some fluiditiy. While I'm sure she finds it fascinating (it's her life--she should!), I found it a rather dull read. You might find it interesting and satisfying if you are very new to reincarnation and the paranormal. Otherwise, save your money.

I've Read Better Reincarnation Books,

This review is from: Past Lives Future Lives (Paperback)
Although the topic of future lives could be very interesting and I've read a book some time ago that was very interesting and informative, this book was lacking not only in information but good writing skills. The writer jumped around a little too much and didn't express situations or events in an interesting and creative manner. It was rather boring all in all. For a topic that could be informative and interesting along with cases that could also be informative and interesting, it left you unsatisfied. Something was definitely lacking. I'd say to the author, please re-write it as it has interesting stuff in there but just poorly written and vague. I kept wanting to enjoy this read but could never get there. I'm hoping I can sell the book second hand for a decent price.

Boring and tiresome rehash on reincarnation,

Nothing new here. The author basically rehashes other works on reincarnation and imparts very little new information. I found the book hard to follow as she jumps from here to there and the story of her "future life" visions do not ring true.

In this book, Jenny Cockell discusses her experiences re: past & future life "memories", as well as those experienced by others. She also touches on her beliefs re: why this is possible.
Although I found the info. to be quite interesting, I have to agree with the other reviewers that her writing style is a bit disjointed. But, if you can get past that, I think it's a worthwhile read.

This is another excellant book by Jenny Cockell. I highly recommend it to anyone interested in the deeper implications of reincarnation and of humanity's inter-connectedness.
