4.0 out of 5 stars Great collection of papers from 1991, November 8, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Past Meets Future: Saving America's Historic Environments (Paperback)
This collection of papers from the 1991 National Trust for Historic Preservation conference. The papers are written by professionals from a variety of fields.

While the papers differ in many aspects, the main focus of these as a collection are where preservation has been, where it is, and where it is going in the next 25 years.

Most of these papers seem to focus on the need to work together with people and organizations from other backgrounds, the need to embrace multiculturalism, and the need to become more politically involved.

This is a great 'snapshot' of the world of historic preservation, and it is very helpful to me, as a student, since it outlines in the introduction their goals and plans for the future. Since their deadline for these is in 2016, it will be very interesting to see where the field has excelled and where it has fallen short.
