A novel that keeps you guessing till the very end.
Poor secretary Annette Briers has a tough time of it. Her boss leaves her at the train station and goes back to the office. Good plot, somewhat slow reading
The plot and the characters in this British police procedural are very interesting. It starts out very interesting, but then starts losing momentum about half-way through. However, the story does pick up again so it was a good book.

Poor secretary Annette Briers has a tough time of it. Her boss leaves her at the train station and goes back to the office. When Annette goes into work the next day -- a dead stranger is in her bosses' chair and there are no clues to his identity. The mystery is who is the stranger and why did someone kill him, right? Not necessarily. Annette's boss, Miranda Gregory has a number of secrets in her past that no one can account for. Then Miranda is nearly killed by a hit-and-run driver. Coincidence? Hardly...A strange solution to this delimna keeps the adrenline flowing the the reader guessing till the very end. I think Clare Curzon will be a name that becomes extermely popular among us mystery readers.
