This review is from: Past The Point Of Rescue (MP3 Download)
What a strange way of describing a song to be sure, but that's the best way I could come up with to explain Past the Point of Rescue by Hal Ketchum. It's upbeat, though it has a bit of a bluesy/minor chord sound to it, in which Ketchum sings with baritone vocals about being Past the Point of Rescue, meaning he's too far into the emotion to be saved, too deep into the pain and the relationship to pull out.
"And I wonder if I'm past the point of rescue. Is no word from you at all the best that you can do? I never meant to push or shove you. Do you know how much I love you? No, you don't, but I do." Good listening, bit of country twang, but not so bad that some pop listeners couldn't listen to identify with it. |
