My machine is very old, very sturdy, and made in italy. It is very heavy and rolls excellent noodles.
You do need a strong place to clamp the machine to. I use my old laminated dining table and so far the veneers have not loosened!

I have had this pasta maker for many, many years. It works beautifully and is not at all cheaply made.

I bought this item at $5, but wouldn't not anything more than $15 for it. It feels like a bunch of tin bent together to make a pasta roller--cheap quality. I bought one to try making noodles myself like my grandma use to when I was a kid. Maybe all pasta rollers feel cheap. I wouldn't buy this again, and would not have spent $40 from the store. Oh yeah, the machine is Item No 15-4595, HIMARK Pasta Queen.
