Practical Approaches To Fund Raising,
By Rev. John Chastain (Parsons, Kansas) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Pastor's Guide to Fund-Raising Success: Step-by-step Details That Will Improve Your Church's Donor Program (Paperback)
After purchasing this book, and looking for more information that could help me improve my churches financial base, I was very pleased to find very practical and usable information rather than just a series of suggestions. This hands-on info is also complete with checklists, pledge cards, and year by year planning guides to help the busy pastor and save him time. There is no need to reinvent the wheel. By using this book you'll find a practical, easy to use approach for all types of fundraising. The book also uses tried and proven techniques that have worked across all denominational lines. I believe it will work if you are willing to work it. The book is a very practical approach if you are looking to help improve your churches donor program.

The Pastor Holds the Keys,
By Kenneth A. Schnell (Independence, Missouri) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Pastor's Guide to Fund-Raising Success: Step-by-step Details That Will Improve Your Church's Donor Program (Paperback)
Fundraising is not easy, but it is essential and can be learned if you are committed to be guided step by step through this well-designed resource. If you are a pastor you must accept your significant role--not an exclusive one--but one that clearly supports the entire funding team. The tables and appendices are wonderful reference tools! Read Chapter 7 first and last and between all other chapters as well. It answers the WHY question that puts into perspective the importance of this book. It clearly hits the point of how stewardship and funding are related. They are---of course---not the same. Use the Checklists and Celebrate Success sections at the end of each chapter. They will make THE difference. The authors never lose sight of the fact that each word, paragraph, section and chapter clearly reminds us that this a book that deals with MINISTRY.

Real church language,
By Larry R. Freund, Church Campaign Consultant (Springfield, MO) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Pastor's Guide to Fund-Raising Success: Step-by-step Details That Will Improve Your Church's Donor Program (Paperback)
I found this book chock full of REAL content for both pastors and lay people alike. You'll appreciate the "church related language" and the way it's organized for a simple or all-out effort in fund raising/stewardship. You can tell that the author has extensive field experience and comes from "being there, doing that" activity. As a professional fund raising consultant I recommend this work highly. Very readable, to the point, accurate and carefully researched. Highly recommended reading for the noviced or experienced pastor, or layperson, for that matter.

A GOOD FUND RAISING RESOURCE,
This review is from: The Pastor's Guide to Fund-Raising Success: Step-by-step Details That Will Improve Your Church's Donor Program (Paperback)
My church recently completed a capital campaign to pay off the mortgage and raise funds to expand our parking lot and begin work on a new sanctuary. I found the book to be a very informative and a useful resource for those of us who are not professional fund raisers. How to plan, organize, and implement a campaign are all laid out in easy to read terms which lead to success when followed. The lists and glossary at the back of the book are most helpful. A great book--definitely 5 stars.
