search inside the book, January 3, 2007
This review is from: Pat, the Cat (Paperback)
Many people have told me how much fun they have reading this rhythmic book. Children enjoy thinking of how their pets entertain themselves when no one is around. It is good to read about interesting entertainment rather than intentionally destructive entertainment. Children notice the subtle message of forgiveness when Pat accidentally breaks a flower pot. They like to talk about the story and about their own pets.
I am concerned about how "search inside the book" looks. You might not realize that it begins on an even page so that each two-page spread has text on the left and the picture on the right. The text in the "search inside the book" part goes with a picture of Pat looking out the window. The picture is on a page opposite of text which talks about the snail and dog which Pat sees. I wish Amazon had selected a two-page spread to show. Page 3 is a title page so that the book can begin with a two-page spread.
I think you'll be glad you bought this little gem.
