The game is a lot of fun , but I was very disappointed in the quality of the dice. Some had chipped edges and missing the black on the die.

Family game night will never be the same! A friend introduced me to Farkle last summer and it quickly became one of my family's favorite games to play. The directions are simple and well written. You can learn to play the game in less than 2 minutes; just start rolling the dice and adding up your score. How big is your family or circle of friends? It doesn't matter with Farkle! You can play by yourself or with as many other people as you choose. I am mad about math so this is the perfect game for me. Adding up the dice to earn 10,000 points is fun and challenging. Adults and older children can help younger ones with the math so they can be included in the fun. Farkle comes in a small, well sealed, durable travel case. I can throw it in my purse and bring it with us anywhere we go. My family and I are traveling to Washington D.C. in April and this game will definitely be coming on the train with us. Another wonderful thing about this game is that it does not have a lot of pieces. It comes with 6 dice and the directions; you just need to supply a pencil and paper to keep score. If you loose a die, just get a new one and keep the fun rolling. I would recommend this exciting and fast paced game to people from 8 to 108 (younger if others can help with the math). Buy Farkle today and start having fun tonight!

My family played this a lot during the holidays. None of us had ever played before and we all learned within a matter of 5 minutes or so and the fun never stopped. Really all you need are six dice and because you do have to roll them all at once, a cup comes in handy. I bought this version at a big box store for less than half the Amazon price and it wasn't even on sale, so I'm not sure why it is more than twice as much on Amazon. It really is just the cup, six dice, and the rules. There's no score card or pencils which is fine by me but really, why the high price Amazon? I love that the cup has a lid, so you can stuff it in your travel bag and take it with you to friend's or family's.

The rules are pretty easy to understand but here are some tips. If you've never played, don't bother reading the tips because they won't make sense. Just come back and read them after you get the game and have read the rules.
* The rules say you can't score your first time until you reach 500 points in a turn. We scrapped this rule but when I play again I think I will use this rule since it encourages you to gamble which is what the game is all about.
* Most of the high scores can only be achieved when you roll all six dice at once. Exceptions are three, four, or five of a kind. (There might be some other exceptions but I can't remember any off the top of my head.)
* The first time I played I was confused and thought that your turn ended after you "farkled" or had scored with all six dice. This is not correct. The only way for your turn to end is if you choose to stop or if you "farkle." Once you have scored with all six dice, you can start over again and continue to accumulate points.

This was bought for us (a British family) by an American friend whose daughter had said every family should have this game. It is a great game, easy to play for all the family and brilliant for kids practising math and adding up large numbers. We love it so much, it is now a standard gift we buy our friends.

This game is fast, fun, educational, and easily mobile. The whole family can have a wonderful time together. It is also a great ice breaker at parties.

Farkle is not only fun but fast paced and engaging.
It is a good game for adding sums and processing the worth of differenet patterns.
Our grandkids (9 and 6) love to play with the adults.

Okay. I have to say, this game is a good way to kill time. Very simple concept and easy to pick up on. One reason I rated it low is because I think it's actually overpriced. I mean it's really on 6 dice and a cup! Reason I bought it was to entertain guests.
