No difference wherein you witness GodSeeing Him once you realize God is in everything What is the new debut album of Daniel Domenge like? I can compare it with an exciting book of short life stories where each novel is unique and soulful. Daniel Domenge has his own bright and vivid style of performing, and all his compositions are listened to in one breath. The artist skillfully plays guitar and bring a taste of life with his uplifting smooth jazz music. Daniel Domenge is a strong melodist. His tunes are perfectly composed and arranged. It is a real joy to listen to harmonious guitar music by Daniel Domenge. Time passes quite imperceptibly while listening to the album "Patchwork". It doesn't contain any tracks that are not expressive. This is that kind of music which you will want to listen to time and again. The album "Patchwork" will help you to feel how beautiful the surrounding world is. Serge Kozlovsky [...].

European smooth jazz at its best,

This album is smooth jazz at its best. Make no mistakes Daniel Domenge is a fine guitarman and songwriter out of France ready to play "major leagues", unfortunately his work hasn't grabbed too much attention in the States. His technique reminisces of Chuck Loeb but the style is clearly his own with beautiful riffs and fresh armonies. "Patchwork" is an awesome cd from beginning to end. The title track, "Smoothjames" and "Nonchalance" could be excellent singles to get serious airplay in any american radio station dedicated to the genre but then again this fine work has been largely unnoticed by them. "Influences" is another outstanding track with an awesome Hammond B3 solo played by Thierry Gautier. Emmanuel Beer in Hammond B3 and Rhodes electric piano and Bruno Monard, drums, back up with high level of musicianship all the songs of this album. The production excels quality and Reynald Evrard who also plays drum and percussion programming is the reponsible for that providing a remarkable recording, mixing and mastering. Daniel Domenge proves that Europe is no stranger to superlative smooth jazz and given the right exposure this artist should be a great surprise for the smooth jazz fan at heart.

SMOOTHJAZZ.com "listening loft"Catégorie : Musique Smooth Jazz is a universal language around the world. Take guitarist Daniel Domenge as an example, who resides in Languedoc-Roussillon... the large vineyard region is one of the 26 regions that make up France. The world-class guitarist has played professionally for some 20 years... his passion for Smooth Jazz finally drove him to record his debut album PATCHWORK. This flawless recording features a tantalizing return to retro influences, yet the beats and rhythms are cutting edge contemporary. Daniel's guitar work is buoyed by Fender Rhodes and Hammond B3 accents as he funkifies the audio environment with a `wah wah' effect and alluring vocal accents. Three years in the making, PATCHWORK features exceptional performances from all contributing musicians and polished off by engineer Reynald Evrard. All of the songs are stunning... my favorites include the attention-grabbing, "Smoothjames," the Pat Menthy-esque "Influences," and the smooth and loungey "Last Summer." This French guitarist speaks fluent Smooth Jazz! ~SANDY SHORE |
