MOVIE DESCRIPTION

The Wonderful Wizard of Oz (1910)
The Emerald City in all its splendor with all the familiar characters so dear to the hearts of children - Little Dorothy, the scarecrow, the woodman, the cowardly lion, and the wizard continuing on their triumphal entry to the mystic city, adding new characters, new situations, and scintillating comedy.

The Patchwork Girl of Oz (1914)
An early screen version of L. Frank Baum's famous "Oz" tales, this installment focuses on a munchkin boy Ojo and his uncle Nunkie.

The Magic Cloak of Oz (1914)
L. Frank Baum, the author who created the "Wizard of Oz" tales, expanded his talents to write, produce and direct this celluloid version of his famous children's stories. It is one of several screen adaptations of his written works.

His Majesty, The Scarecrow of Oz (1914)
There are times when the rather unrefined nature of this Oz fantasy feature stands out, but any rough edges are smoothed out by the enjoyable and creative nature of the story and the characters. It's one of an unfortunately small number of Oz features made by L. Frank Baum's own production company, and it is easy to see his influence, in the way that the story and characters are brought to life with such energy and imagination.

Whoever edited this did a really weird job. I plan to re-edit myself to make more sense of some of the films. It is great to have some music, and to get a DVD re-lease of these rare treasures, but the re-lease is not good. Some of the sequences of various films, seem really out of order, and the music is not a true score, but only a bunch of public domain classical music.

I had never even heard of any of these movies before the amazing invention that is Wikipedia. I had seen the Wizard of Oz probably 20 times in my life and I love it. You absolutely must see these 4 also. I wish I could find the rest that Wikipedia says were made but they seem to not exist. These four movies make the experience of the Judy Garland feature so much better becuase you get alot of the backstory to where the characters come from and how Oz came to be.

This seller sent the video ordered within a week after I ordered it and it arrived in great condition. I work at a museum that covers California history and we decided to convert our old VHS tapes to DVDs. Not only were the prices reasonable, but the entire process was smooth and professional. I would definitely use this seller again. This also replaced items that were lost as well as replace current DVDs.
