Book Description

June 1, 2003
This manual features lessons and insights for quilters of every skill level. In this completely revised second edition, crafts instructor Jean Wells takes readers on a journey into the world of quilt design, colour and creativity. There are 33 quilt projects based on both vintage and contemporary designs - including 27 original designs specially created for this new edition. Twenty-two quilt blocks teach an array of quilting techniques, including template piecing, strip piecing, applique, curved seams and crazy patches. Each lesson builds on the next, progressing from easy to more advanced techniques. From choosing fabric and constructing quilt blocks to selecting colours and designing quilts of one's own, Jean Wells offers guidance and encouragement that should be suitable for both beginners and experienced quilters seeking a challenge and new creative inspiration.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for basic patterns, November 13, 2004
This review is from: Patchwork Quilts Made Easy: 33 Quilt Favorites, Old and New (Paperback)
I aleardy own several books with basic quilt patterns but after leafing through this one in the store, I had to have it. The colors are so beautiful. I am a big fan of the Jean Wells and Valori Wells and this book features many quilts using their fabrics and unique color style. The book also showcases some great techniques.
