5.0 out of 5 stars Path for yoga, for relaxation
As a Yoga instructor and artist I am constantly seaching for that special flow- that music that you consciously hear as you begin yoga or meditation, but has the ability to disappear into the recesses of your mind as your awareness attunes to a different level. Path invokes relaxation. It is fast enough to use in anything involving movement, yet not so fast you feel...

3.0 out of 5 stars NOT A SMOOTHE RIDE
Maybe I was expecting too much. WINDHAM HILL and AMBIENT in the title was just too irresistable. The album is available on cd or cassette. I ordered the cassette. I planned to order the disc after "previewing" the cheaper cassette version. BUT. . .The tracks are of inconsistent texture: space jazz, vocal(ization)s, beat-driven new age, and instrumental ambient. Each...

5.0 out of 5 stars Path for yoga, for relaxation, October 15, 2000

As a Yoga instructor and artist I am constantly seaching for that special flow- that music that you consciously hear as you begin yoga or meditation, but has the ability to disappear into the recesses of your mind as your awareness attunes to a different level. Path invokes relaxation. It is fast enough to use in anything involving movement, yet not so fast you feel hurried in any way. I am not sure that it would be slow enough for pure meditation. Every musical creation on this CD is different, yet it flows seemlessly. I also bought YogaZone, Music for Yoga- it was good-a few shared artists- but nothing compared to Path. If you are looking for a complement to your yoga, or want some music to create a relaxed atomosphere this is it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent ambient music, May 26, 1998
By A Customer
Never before have I heard a compilation album that is so well integrated. The selections blend together so well that most listeners (not knowing it to be a compilation) would assume it was one group, not ten.

I am a massage therapist and find that this album is especially perfect for a one hour session. The last piece (just as I am doing finishing strokes on my client face and scalp) contains the most restful sounds of male & female choirs in vocalizations that inspire images of floating gently through space with angels.

5.0 out of 5 stars absolutely brilliant experience, July 30, 1998
By A Customer
I bought this CD some thirteen months ago, and still listen to it every other day. The artists featured were unknown to me before, but since hearing samples of their work on this compilation I have bought several of their works.

Of particular merit on this extremely easy listening CD, is the fourth track, `Uman' by White Spirit. This piece is so inspiring that I have not tired of it after hundreds of playings.

Perfect to listen to before sleeping, meditating, working or whatever, I highly recommend this collection - you will not regret buying it ever!

5.0 out of 5 stars A tapestry of earth and music..., September 5, 2002

This is a marvelously moving album to experience. While all the artists are different the album flows together very nicely. It moves along at its own pace, far far different than the pace of much of the everyday world in which we live. It is mellow and is not something you actively listen to although over time the melodies become quite clear and, oddly enough, captivating even exciting, though on a different level.

Play it in the background or play it in the car and suddenly an entirely different ambience is created. It's a beautiful work. I never tire of it and it embraces whatever mood I'm in and allows it to unfold in a rhythm all its own. You won't regret it a bit.

4.0 out of 5 stars Lydia, May 20, 2005
Most of the tracks on this album are very good, but Lydia by Tim Story is special. It is one of the most hauntingly beautiful pieces of music I have ever come across.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Best of Ambient Music, October 22, 2005
By

This is the sort of rare CD that you can turn on, set "repeat CD" and not touch it for the day; or even for days! I have had this CD for many, many years... and it has never lost its appeal. PS: This is NOT "upbeat" jazzy ambient; but, mellow "calm you down" ambient. Each track is unique.

Each selection, in a broad sense, works as ambient and each could have been the focus of an enjoyable collection of like-minded pieces. But together, they have distinct "ambiances" and force the listener to make mental shifts that disrupt what otherwise could have been a smoothe journey.

5.0 out of 5 stars Calming but introspective, April 16, 2011
By
I play it at night when my two restless little boys have difficulty going to bed. They calm down immediately. The music is happy, and anyone who likes new age music will love it. Great as background music. An incredible album! I rarely watch things more than once, but no matter how often I listen to Path, I enjoy it more.

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful Music, August 31, 2009

A beautiful blend of several different artists that works very well together, each flowing into the next, while retaining their uniqueness. Can be listened to either as background music ( I use it during meditation, & while working ) or can be focused on for its artistic merit. Highly recommended.
