A great story in the vein of Wolf and Cub. I personally think this story has more depth and variety than the afforementioned. Sex, violence, magic, ninja! What more could you ask for?! And before you reply to that rhetorical question... a cameo by Chuck Norris would be in bad taste!

The warlords of Japan continue to fight for supreme power. No weapon is left unused, be it cannon or assassins. A very special assassin aims for Oda Nobunaga and it is up to Hanzo to deal with him. Throughout this issue the partnership between Ieyasu and Nobunaga, and Hideyoshi the Baldy Rat, deepens as battle follows battle, but this will not be enough when the Tiger of Kai, Takeda Shingen unleashes both his armies and his ninjas against Ieyasu on his way to conquer Japan. And only Hanzo has the skill to stop him from destroying Ieyasu. He will need it, he faces the greatest warlord of the age and he is expecting him!
Ieyasu, Hideyoshi, Nobunaga, Shingen. All rush toward destiny and death in an age that devoured great men for breakfast. It is an age that one of them will bring to an end but not without erasing the others.

Like the other two series "Lone Wolf and Cub" and "Samurai Executioner", "Path of the Assasin" is a very pleasant book for one to read. But unlike the other two series, there is a focus on the geopolitical events of that era in japan and much less battles. Also it is almost impossible to remember all the different names and charactes that take part on the plot.
