Good but complicated,

This review is from: Path Of The Assassin, Vol. 14 (v. 14) (Paperback)
Like the other two series "Lone Wolf and Cub" and "Samurai Executioner", "Path of the Assasin" is a very pleasant book for one to read. But unlike the other two series, there is a focus on the geopolitical events of that era in japan and much less battles. Also it is almost impossible to remember all the different names and charactes that take part on the plot.

This review is from: Path Of The Assassin, Vol. 14 (v. 14) (Paperback)
The story of Hattori Hanzo and the Tokugawa saga continues to unfold with some uneventful army battles and duels with some supposedly talented ninja which are either taken out or dealt too easily in a rather uninspired manner. After the precedent set for ninja encounters in previous issues, I found this issue lacking in excitement and originality on that regard. It is not a bad installment, but I would have hoped the series to be better and more interesting by this point with the inclusion of historical worthy rivals like the Koga ninja or such. If you stuck with this series so far, you are naturally going to want to follow the story. For new readers, this would not be a good point to jump in.
