Like the other two series "Lone Wolf and Cub" and "Samurai Executioner", "Path of the Assasin" is a very pleasant book for one to read. But unlike the other two series, there is a focus on the geopolitical events of that era in japan and much less battles. Also it is almost impossible to remember all the different names and charactes that take part on the plot.

A great story in the vein of Wolf and Cub. I personally think this story has more depth and variety than the afforementioned. Sex, violence, magic, ninja! What more could you ask for?! And before you reply to that rhetorical question... a cameo by Chuck Norris would be in bad taste!

4.0 out of 5 stars Series is over, though it feels somewhat inconclusive, May 16, 2009

This review is from: Path Of The Assassin, Vol. 15: One Who Rules The Dark (Paperback)
The final installment of this series feels like the title might have been canceled prematurely and some story threads were left hanging. The retelling of historical events and battles seemed somewhat rushed. Overall this book was rather light in ninja action. Though many Japanese series tend to have similar clumsy endings, this one made the whole series a bit less satisfying. If you made it this far, you will probably get it to complete your collection. Yet, this book doesn't stand well on its own for newcomers.
