5.0 out of 5 stars Easy to read bio of Charlotte Bronte, February 7, 2012
This bio of Charlotte Bronte continues the story started in The Dark Quartet, also by Lynne Reed Banks. You could read Path to the Silent Country without having read the first, (especially if you're really only interested in Charlotte,) but I'd recommend reading The Dark Quartet first.

That said, this is a highly readable look at the life of Charlotte Bronte, written in fictionalized form. You hear what Charlotte said and thought - so if you're the skeptical type (how does she know Charlotte said exactly that?) then you might find this style irritating. But I found it enjoyable and easy to read - not a dry 'just the facts' type of bio.
