5.0 out of 5 stars Mmm, mmm, GOOD!
This album is a classic as far as I'm concerned. Deeds Of Flesh deliver face-poundingly brutal death metal with a precision that, quite simply put, cuts of the top of your head and scoops out your brains with a spoon before feeding it to the gods of destruction with a side order of fries and a coke.

3.0 out of 5 stars A Late Review,For a Far Too Late Purchase.
Regardless if any one finds this review helpful or not after so many years later of this albums release date. I thought I'd write a review for the people who are interested in getting into Deeds of Flesh or somebody like me who might being going backwards with all of Deeds of Flesh's albums. I've been aware of Deed's of Flesh for quite some time, mostly from living in a...

4.0 out of 5 stars THE MOST BRUTAL ALBUM EVER!!!!!!!!!, March 19, 2001
By
This review is from: Path of the Weakening (Audio CD)
Give it up for a great new band in the underground scene. These guys really destroy their instruments as they go along. The 9 tracks featured give you a dose of mind-crushing death metal. A constant storm of heavy guitars and drums as fast as you have ever seen. I gave it four stars because the album only lasts 33 minutes and sometimes, the vocals are a little hard to understand even with the lyrics. Anyway, give DEEDS OF FLESH a try. Maybe you'll be pleasently surprised! This one isn't for the faint of heart!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice..., January 31, 2003

I had a chance to see these guys live, and was very impressed. I picked up the album, and I can say that it is one of the better death metal releases I've heard in quite some time. No frills, no gimmicks - just brutally fast death metal with cruel vocals. The music flows together exceptionally well, and even the lyrics are pretty creative. Every now and then, you just need to hear a death metal album that goes for the throat, and "Path Of The Weakening" does just that. Death metal fans, take note! If you haven't heard of these guys yet, you will!

5.0 out of 5 stars Beyond Brutality., March 26, 2001
By
This review is from: Path of the Weakening (Audio CD)
If you are looking for a band that puts out straight up, raw brutality then you want Deeds Of Flesh. I have been a death metal, grindcore listener since I was 12 (for the last 10 years), and I am yet to find a band that comes close to Deeds Of Flesh in brutality. Although I think this is their weakest album, it's still heavier than any other bands material by far. "Gradually Melted", "Inbreeding The Anthropophagi", and "Trading Pieces" are their first three albums; all of which are beyond brutal to the extreme. It's hard to put into words just how extremely brutal Deeds Of Flesh is, but I hope I emphasized the point for you. I know over 1000 bands, and their is only two bands remotely close: Yattering, and Disgorge. Bands like Mortician, Nile, and Krisiun are jokes compared to these bands. Check out the underground.

5.0 out of 5 stars Blasting chaos in a fine structure of control, December 20, 2001
This review is from: Path of the Weakening (Audio CD)
The extremity of arrangement and instrumental abuse employed here hides a gently evolving melodic center to each piece, woven between battering rhythm riffing and transitional material that gives each song a sense of adventure and epic change. While every overindulgence of metal is here, so is excellent homegrown songwriting in a form that most people cannot even fathom is music.

5.0 out of 5 stars Better review: Ultra Brutal Death Masterpiece, April 13, 2001
By
This review is from: Path of the Weakening (Audio CD)
As you may have noticed by my user name, I love Deeds Of Flesh. They are my favorite band not only for their incredible brutality, but for their consistency in putting out great albums. I have all of Deeds Of Flesh's albums, and "Path of The Weakening" is the 2nd best out of the 4. It's an incredible album, but clearly not their best. If you are unfamiliar with Deeds Of Flesh, they are in the vein of "Effigy of The Forgotten" era Suffocation and "Tomb of The Mutilated" era Cannibal Corpse; only twice as BRUTAL. They also are much more underground and associated with the death/gore/grind underground scene. They combine super deep guttural death vocals with the fastest drumming you'll ever hear and the most thick and brutal guitars ever. They will leave you pummeled six feet into the ground. They may not be the sickest band ever, but the make up for lack of gore with the extremity of their music. There are only two other bands at the same level in brutality, and they are Disgorge (of Mexico) and Devourment. Deeds of Flesh, Devourment and Disgorge are all brutal beyond anything you have every heard or could imagine. If you want some other sick and brutal death, then check out Deed's albums "Gradually Melted" and "Trading Pieces", both are excellent and ultra brutal death. Also check out Disgorge's "Chronic Corpora Infest" and especially "Forensick"; both are sick, disgusting and absolutely insane brutal gore/death. Devourment's "Molesting The Decapitated" and "Reincremation" are equally brutal. If you are interested in the underground brutal death scene then you would probably like; Yattering, Disgorge (of USA), Circle Of Dead Children, Blood, Agathocles, Death of Millions, Vile, Brutality Reigns Supreme, Sepsism, Eternal Suffering, Dehumanized, Odious Sanction, Brodequin, Pyaemia and Pyrexia... Deeds of Flesh new album "Mark of The Legion" will be released in June so check it out.

"and even the lyrics are pretty creative".

Yeah, but if it's death metal then how can you even begin to understand the lyrics without reading them? I have several death metal albums and can't understand a 'lickin' word of any of them but the music's great.

5.0 out of 5 stars Crushing Death Metal like no other, February 17, 2006
This review is from: Path of the Weakening (Audio CD)
Seriously, Deeds of Flesh do not sound like anybody else. there are a few bands like early Parracide or Impure who sound like Deeds of Flesh. but Deeds are the originals. the first time i heard them i was amazed, i pushed play and got crushed by a brutal wall of Death Metal like i had never heard. and Path of the Weakening is the bands best, i have 5 of Deeds of Flesh 7 albums and this is definately my favorite. the excellent sound quality on this Deeds of Flesh album is bolstered by the addition of a 2nd guitarist, Jimmy T from VILE. get this album and get crushed.

5.0 out of 5 stars inhuman, January 22, 2002

words cannot explain the ferocity of this album. now, i've been around for a while in the death/black metal scene and i was completely stunned by the content of this cd. the word 'brutal' does not do this album justice by any means. let me make something absolutely clear... I HAVE NEVER HEARD ANYONE PLAY THE DRUMS THIS FAST. almost a year ago when this was released, i thought how incredible it was... and here a year later, it's still just as incredible. this is evil defined. deep voacls straight from the bowels of the earth. nothing catchy or flashy. minimal solos and only to the acutely trained ear, can you make out a melody. no my friend, this is ultra grindcore, super speed death, (and even though people say this way too much), unforgiving brutality. let me put it this way, if you have not heard this album, then you are not experienced.
