5.0 out of 5 stars a great assistant Massage therapists
This book is very helpful to the massage therapist. It helps with having a short description of the disease, what strokes to use, and the best way to position the body, and a rough idea of how often you should give the client a massage

1.0 out of 5 stars Terrible Customer Service
I ordered a brand new book in early September. It took ten days to arrive (not typical for Amazon). I thought I was dealing direct with Amazon which I have only had wonderful customer service. The supposed new book arrived in a crumpled horrible looking package. I opened the book and it was obviously used. Cover was worn and had a tear in it. I was very disappointed...

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent pathology guide for massage students, May 29, 2004
By A Customer
This is a great book for learning pathology. I'm a massage therapist and this helped me to learn certain conditions such as fibromyalgia and multiple sclerosis for school exams and for the national boards. If you really want to know the kind of questions asked on the National Certification Examination get the following on amazon: "The Ulimate Study Guide for the National Certification Examination for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork: Key Review Questions and Answers" (Volume 1), (Volume 2), and (Volume 3). Each volume covers each section of the National Certification Examination so thoroughly and the questions really help you know which areas you are weak or strong in.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent comprehensive text and reference, October 20, 2008

This text has a good balance of information and brevity. It is highly usable, and perfect for any massage office or facility to educate the staff. I wish this text had been used in my massage school.

1.0 out of 5 stars Terrible Customer Service, October 28, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I was very disappointed as it was to be a gift. I returned the book and was told on October 18 via email that I would be refunded. The refund could take up to ten days. They asked me to take off unfavorable information. I did that in good faith. As of this writing, Oct. 28th, I still have not received my refund. This is totally unacceptable that the refund has taken this long. I will be very careful in the future to make sure I am only working directly with Amazon. I am reposting my unfavorable review. Be careful of this company!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Not Completely Satisfied, January 9, 2007
I was disappointed to receive what I feel is a rather expensive book and find that in flipping through the pages, that some of them were upside-down. I expect perfection when buying a new item!
