Handel moved to London in 1712; after that, England was his second homeland. He knew what sort of music the British audience loved, and adapted his style to the British taste. In 1729, Handel traveled back to Germany to visit his elderly mother. He returned to England with the manuscript of the German Arias, which were his last compositions written in German.
