Insightful, Candid, December 11, 2006
This review is from: A Pathway to Healing: One Woman's Journey through Depression (Paperback)
Linda Lufkin's journey through depression is insightful and candid. It's not a dirty-laundry-on -the-line approach, but rather a story worth the telling. "Sit down with me," she seems to say," and walk with me awhile. The journey began through loss, trauma, and chemical imbalance but didn't end there."
I was impressed that Linda did not give me a two point sermon, nor did she equate depression with failing God. Instead, she paints a picture of running and then facing the pain in life. She points out that no one in a family is exempt from the strain of chronic depression. Ultimately however, it was the unfailing love of God that walked her and those about her through the shadowy years.
Linda weaves twenty-five resources into the 109 page read, providing a wellspring of help for those on a similar path. An encouraging light for a debilitating problem.
