Book Description

Pathway to Purpose March 15, 2005
For many women, knowing God's five purposes for their lives---worship, fellowship, discipleship, ministry, and evangelism---leads to the natural questions, 'What am I doing in the midst of deadlines, diapers, to-do lists, laundry, and daily schedules? What is the connection between my life purposes and the daily existence I am living now?' In these three companion volumes, Katie Brazelton helps women connect the dots between living amidst the details of their lives and living out God's purposes for their lives. She provides road-tested tools that have become the stepping stones for women along the pathway to living in purpose. Pathway to Purpose for Women: Connecting Your To-Do List, Your Passions, and God's Purposes for Your Life How does a woman live through---see through---the ordinary when she yearns for the significant? This how-to guide, filled with true personal stories, provides stepping stones through the challenges of not only discovering your universal purposes, but also discerning your unique purposes in this life. Praying for Purpose for Women: A Prayer Experience That Will Change Your Life Forever Do you want God to tell you more about his specific plan for your life? This 60-day prayer experience will guide you to ask God to mentor you in your life's purposes. Included are insights from modern-day role models, examples of biblical characters, specific questions to ask yourself and to seek God's answers, and an eye-opening analysis of your life patterns and purposes. Conversations on Purpose for Women: Ten Appointments That Will Change Your Life Forever Designed to be used with a Purpose Partner, this workbook is filled with conversation starters, Scripture verses, questions, and specific self-assessment exercises to help you uncover God's Dream for your life, moving you from an initial sneak preview to the most challenging steps you will want to take on your journey toward purpose-filled living. Editorial Reviews

From Publishers Weekly

Brazelton, who works with Rick Warren as director of women's Bible studies at Saddleback Church, has spent years helping women discover their life purpose. She pours her passion into this book, designed to help women find meaning in life. While each chapter focuses on another "stepping stone" in the journey to purpose, there are several overarching themes: every daily task is part of God's purpose; ultimate meaning requires obedience and complete surrender to God, and God has a vision for each woman's life. Brazelton's aim is to get every reader to find this vision, this "personalized way of leading people from emptiness to surrender to significance in Christ." A vision should be big: a "highly amplified life calling and focused destiny." However, Brazelton offers little biblical foundation for the idea that every woman should expected to seek the same kind of vision that Sarah, Deborah or Esther received. Thus, Brazelton may end up creating disillusionment where she hoped to resolve it. However, many readers are sure to enjoy her friendliness and vulnerability, and welcome her advice from years of experience guiding women. (Apr.)

5.0 out of 5 stars A "Must" Read For Every Woman, April 21, 2005
This review is from: Pathway to Purpose for Women: Connecting Your To-Do List, Your Passions, and God's Purposes for Your Life (Hardcover)
Pathway to Purpose" is a rare delight! No matter what age, this book brings insight to every reader who takes the journey, along with Katie Brazelton, of discovering new meaning and significance for their lives. After the book changed my life and my 25-year old daughter's life - I decided to share it with other women. As a professional counselor, I recommend this book more than any other resource on personal growth. I challenge every woman to embrace the truths of "Pathway to Purpose" and risk having their life changed forever! I predict it will be a classic enjoyed for generations to come.

5.0 out of 5 stars Only book, next to the Bible, that I will keep forever!, August 29, 2005
This review is from: Pathway to Purpose for Women: Connecting Your To-Do List, Your Passions, and God's Purposes for Your Life (Hardcover)
This is one book that overcame my suspicion about promising things the author can't deliver. Katie writes from experience, and combines it with her vast intellectual knowledge. There is no quick solution to finding purpose in one's life, but what Katie offers in her book is hope that you can find it if you persevere in practicing what she teaches, and also have patience. She is a gifted, empathic author and I thank the Lord for her willingness to share herself through her books.

If you think Rick Warren's book, "The Purpose-Driven Life" is great, I guarantee you that you will love Katie's book.

5.0 out of 5 stars This is a wonderful book!, April 29, 2005
I not only enjoyed the practical tips and realistic action steps in this book, but I also loved reading the stories from the author's life and journey. It is SO clear that she has asked the same question that I ask and that she has felt the same feelings that I feel. Just like the Introduction says, I feel like she is a friend after reading this book. And I feel like I am more equipped to begin to discover and live out my life purpose for God.
