Book Description

April 30, 2000
A self-help book for women who have not experienced orgasm, for those whose orgasms are infrequent, and for those wishing theirs were bigger and better. The book contains accurate information, valuable insight, helpful suggestions, fun "homework assignments," and a comprehensive list of resources. The impact of physical disability, illness, medications, aging, menopause and sexual abuse on a woman's sexual response are included. Lynn Morgan, a Certified Sex Educator, sums it up when she says, "This book has it all. Permission, information and how-to tips for women of any age."

Editorial Reviews

From the Publisher

In the Foreword, Beverly Whipple, Ph.D., RN, Co-author of The G Spot, writes, "I love the emphasis in this book on the many pathways to pleasure and not on the single goal of orgasm." Dr. Whipple, the President of the American Association of Sex Educators, Counselors and Therapists (AASECT), adds, "I also like Bob and Cindy's emphasis on enjoying the process of sexual expression, whether it is with oneself or with a partner. These authors have encouraged women to take responsibility for their own bodies and their own sexuality."

The Past President of AASECT, Judith Seifer, Ph.D., RN, creator and host of "The Better Sex Video Series," describes this book as "An essential read for the woman who knows something is missing during sex and is ready to do something about it!" We are proud of the endorsements of Dr. Whipple and Dr. Seifer, two of America's most respected experts on female sexuality.

From the Author

The sexual insecurities spawned by our goal-oriented society have lead to a proliferation of how-to sex manuals and adult quasi-educational videos, all promising immediate and fantastic results. People have been encouraged to worry about their performance, to fear failure, and to endlessly seek information on how to be a spectacular sexual success. We have tried to be practical, as well as reasonable. In writing our book, we have not intended to add to the "super-sex" literature nor to present startling new discoveries about "surefire techniques."

Our book is about fun, passionate, and loving sex, but also about powerful reliable orgasms. It is our desire to offer encouragement, tips and information to women who still wonder, and to reassure them that easy and reliable orgasms are possible.

More About the Author

Bob was a psychologist specializing in marital and sex therapy for over 35 years. Oral Caress was one of his first books and most of his self-help books, such as Male Sexual Endurance, were written while he was still in practice. When he retired in 1998 he began writing in earnest, branching off into the writing of erotic romance novels, short stories and poetry, both naughty and nice.

5.0 out of 5 stars SOME GREAT TIPS, January 3, 2001
This review is from: Pathways to Pleasure : A Woman's Guide to Orgasm (Paperback)
My husband and I found this book easy to read, packed with interesting information, and quite helpful. After five years of frustration, I was finally able to orgasm with my husband, and I think it helped that we both read the book. We knew what to try and what to expect, and the book helped us talk more openly about our sexuality. I would recommend the book to any woman or couple who might have concerns about orgasms (or the absence of them). I also appreciate the fact that the authors included information for aging women and women with physical disabilities. This was very thoughtful of them.

5.0 out of 5 stars Nice, specific information, November 3, 2002

This review is from: Pathways to Pleasure : A Woman's Guide to Orgasm (Paperback)
My therapist gave me this book to read. Although I do not generally have trouble reaching orgasm, this book helped me become more familiar and comfortable with my body. It is a helpful guide for enjoying sex and hopefully reaching orgasm, although it stresses the importance of finding pleasure in "the journey" and not just staying focused on "the goal". It gives detailed information on masturbation, cunnilingus, vibrators, etc. The authors have rated (with stars) various sexual postions based on the likelihood for reaching orgasm in that position. This book is full of helpful information, but most reassuring to me was understanding there is no one right way to go about having and enjoying sex.

5.0 out of 5 stars enjoy your own body, August 2, 2004
This review is from: Pathways to Pleasure : A Woman's Guide to Orgasm (Paperback)
I have also been reading this book as part of my therapy. I have found it useful in improving my knowledge of my own body and how to relax and enjoy. My only wish is that I would have read this before this point in my life.
