5.0 out of 5 stars All comprehensive and detail endodontic theory and practice
This book is the most in depth, scholarly written book on endo on the market next to the Dental Pulp (by Seltzer). There's ample literature references in each chapter and it's a great preparation tool for specialty boards. While the book is too science based/not enough show-and-tell for most predoctoral students and general dentists (Endodontic Therapy, by Walton is a...

3.0 out of 5 stars Deception
I bought this booke based upon the commnents I heard from the author S. Cohen.I'm a bit disapointed because it is not really up to date and I expected the online service that I have to buy apart.Where , at the moment I don't know?
The price is ok.

This book is the most in depth, scholarly written book on endo on the market next to the Dental Pulp (by Seltzer). There's ample literature references in each chapter and it's a great preparation tool for specialty boards. While the book is too science based/not enough show-and-tell for most predoctoral students and general dentists (Endodontic Therapy, by Walton is a better choice there), Pathways is best for post doctoral students and practicing endodontists.

5.0 out of 5 stars fantastic text, February 27, 2006

once again, a fantastic text. A great test for endodontic board certification and any endodontist, but the information is too detailed I believe for the general dentist, although it should be able to answer any question the general dentist should have on endodontics.

5.0 out of 5 stars An Excellent book, October 27, 2006
By
This is an excellent book with both practical steps and the theoritical background.I'm amazed that some of reviewers are complaining about the book being too theoritical, too wordy or too scientific. I assume that the reviewers are dentists,I'm certainly a dentist, and was also an A student. If a dentist has no interest in the science behind the procedure and finds it "wordy and too detailed", the question would be why did they become a dentist in the first place? After all, we are supposed to be scientists too. This book is written by fine practicing clinicians who also happen to be very knowlegable scientists.
Any dentist with passion for dentistry will find this book worth every penny.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Text for the General Dentist, December 22, 2008
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This text is very well written and planned out. I am a recent graduate from Dental School and am practicing general dentistry. I wanted a text I could read that would help me learn how to select the correct cases and guide me toward selecting the right methods (specifically I wanted to know the difference between the brands of files and why one is better than another... the text addresses this very well) to use for the RCTs I do perform. This text is in-depth with cited research to back up their statements. It is up to date and has great pictures and graphs to explain and demonstrate the text. I think is a great text for a clinician who wants to enhance a basic knowledge on Endodontics and learn why to do what they do. Overall an excellent text.

5.0 out of 5 stars Invaluable book, March 17, 2008
By
This book is very comprehensive in covering both the scientific and clinical aspects of endodontics. While the detail may be overwhelming for many general dentists, it is an invaluable resource for those interested in gaining a more in depth understanding of the underlying principles and practical ins and outs of performing endodontic therapy. Great for training and practicing endodontists.

2.0 out of 5 stars wordy, too much detail, too theoretical, May 7, 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: Pathways of the Pulp (Hardcover)
This book snow-balls the reader with tons of trivial details that have little to do with clinical endodontic practice. It provides a confusing picture of how to function clinically. Out of touch with reality. I don't know why it is so standard in dental schools. Most undergraduates probably couldn't use more than 10% of it.

1.0 out of 5 stars It's got too much word than information itself, May 11, 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: Pathways of the Pulp (Hardcover)
It had some OK pictures and the context is not well organized.
Paragraphs are too long and doesn't attract readers attentaion because of too much word then the content itself. I met Dr. Cohen in San Francisco and found him to be a good Sales man then a good Doctor or an Author. I've attended his lectures and find him too wordy and not enough meat in his lectures either. Not sure why so many Professor still recommend him.
Personally I think this book should be utilized as recycling item because I didn't get any useful information out of it. Please try to read other dental authors book, for sure this one is NOT the one you really want to read. It's waist of money and your time.
