5.0 out of 5 stars The Rays of Sunlight from Thought and Study, September 26, 2008
This review is from: Pathways to Unknown Worlds: Sun Ra, El Saturn and Chicago's Afro-Futurist Underground, 1954-68 (Paperback)
The mid-1950s was a period of tremendous growth for Sun Ra and the bustling urban landscape of Chicago was the location of his transformation.

Not only did Sun Ra begin to shape the professional elements which would propel his music for five decades, but he found the path make strides philosophically and spiritually. The book delves into this personal journey which holistically brought Sun Ra to heights of tremendous knowledge and understanding.

Through the use of text, photographs and production materials, the rays of sunlight from thought and study are brought to life. This is Sun Ra the explorer and it is now the reader's journey, too.
